 | | keypusher: <alexmagnus It may be that Greco won 100% of his games. He was the only person who seriously played chess in 1600s.> <SBC> would like a word with you: http://batgirl.atspace.com/ChessRen... |

 | | alexmagnus: <keypsher> The only player from 1600s listed on that page is Carrera. The others are 1400s (Castellvi, Vinyoles) or 1500s (Damiano, Ruy Lopez, Boi....). |
Mar-21-07
 | | alexmagnus: I of course mean the only player from 1600s not counting Greco himself. |

 | | keypusher: <only player [other than Greco] from 1600s listed on that page is Carrera. > Well, I only needed one, didn't I? But in fact a couple more are mentioned on the Chess Literature page in the link. |

Apr-01-07 | | chessamateur: Hooray, NN is the player of the day! Finally NN will be recognized for something after all these years. |
Apr-01-07 | | chessamateur: And that's not a joke. |
Apr-01-07 | | Tactic101: Another good joke. |
Apr-01-07 | | jmi: Congrats to NN for being the player of the day!! You deserve it, mate! ;-) |
Apr-01-07 | | Manic: Finally, NN gets the recognition he/she deserves. His record does not justice to his skill. After all, most of his games are against the top of the world. He also boasts 3 wins against Alekhine and not many can say that they are playing chess at a good level for over 400 years. |
Apr-01-07 | | izual: Happy birthday NN ! |
Apr-01-07 | | FHBradley: NN is the only chess player who has managed to beat Philidor, Staunton, Lasker and Aljechin. That's truly impressive. I join the other Kibitzers for congratulations to the spokesperson of all patzers. |
Apr-01-07 | | FHBradley: I forgot Blackburne from my list :-) |
Apr-01-07 | | Rubenus: Congratulations for being player of the day! |
Apr-01-07 | | gambitfan: encore un gros poisson d'avril! |
Apr-01-07 | | tbentley: People like to insult his play in some games, but what do you expect from someone over 100 years old? |
Apr-01-07 | | sheaf: finally we are recognised ;-) |
Apr-01-07 | | Dr.Lecter: How in the world did NN become the player of the day? |
Apr-01-07 | | drkodos: Player of the Day should have been, Lirpa Loof. |

chat during the game: <1...e5> zk: "hello!"
<2.Bc4>: nn: "please play now" <2...Nf6> zk: "ok, i can play some moves now... Here Brazil, from where do You play?" <3.Nc3> SILENCE - (Yes, is HIM - that tortured soul that wanders for centuries playing chess - NN in person!) <4.Nf3> nn: "you attack as if u play white" <4...Nc6> zk: "Just a simmetrical Giuoco Piano" <6.d3> nn: "at least you can see chess!" - After 12.Kh1 I received a message - offering a DRAW! - he (or she) alleged that was unaware that I played reasonably, and that in the next time he (or she) would play more atentivelly! |

Apr-01-07 | | Brettwith2ts: I've played some games where I wished that I was NN. A lot, actually, like that one time I played Rook odds against an IM on ICC. I lost, obviously. |
Apr-16-07 | | Manic: <Brettwith2ts> well, at least it sounds like only your bad losses makes you wish you were NN. Sometimes, even when I win, I wish to remain unknown because of the amount of blunders. Then again, my opponent must feel worse. |
May-24-07 | | Malaspina: Salvete, sodales!
Cur "nomen nescio" scribitis?
Valete! |

 | | alexmagnus: <I've played some games where I wished that I was NN. A lot, actually, like that one time I played Rook odds against an IM on ICC. I lost, obviously.> Why obviously? In a blitz game it's obvious but in a long game rook odds is a tough thing. Even in a blitz game without odds impossible is nothing (I once drew a GM - and am rated 1400 on playchess...) |
Jun-05-07 | | Brettwith2ts: Well, I meant that obviously I lost if I wanted to remain anonymous. If I had beaten (or drawn) an IM under any circumstances, I wouldn't mind if people knew who I was. (also, this was 2 years ago, when I was, at best, rated 1200. I think I could maybe pull it off today, in a long game. Maybe.) |
