Jul-12-03 | | JGD: I really like this German girl! She has incredible talent for her age and the looks to match it. |
Oct-09-03 | | pawntificator: Wow! She is so beautiful!! She doesn't look happy though. |
Oct-09-03 | | ughaibu: Dont worry, you've enough happiness to cover the worries of the world's women. |
Oct-09-03 | | ravrdj: wow, she's hot!! wish i could meet some girls that look that good and play chess ;) |
Oct-10-03
 | | Benzol: Down Boy !! Your hormones are raging. |
Nov-24-03 | | ChessPraxis: Elisabeth is annoyed because her chess board is tilted and all the pieces are sliding down. |
Nov-24-03 | | ChessPraxis: I don't think that's a realistic position on the chess board. That's because the pieces are sliding off. |
Nov-25-03 | | Calli: Plays pretty well. Obviously not a Paehtz-er ;-) |
Aug-02-04 | | shr0pshire: It must be nice to have a father who was at grandmaster strength at one point. Sorry Lizzy, but I respect people that do it on their own more. |
Aug-03-04 | | Dick Brain: <ChssPraxis> When I saw this picture I though that she was trying to use telekenisis to make the pieces slide back uphill. |
Aug-03-04 | | chesscookie: maybe the pieces were glued on ;-) |
Aug-09-04 | | percyblakeney: Pähtz’ win against Seps in Biel: 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Nf6 3.d3 c6 4.Nf3 d6 5.0-0 Be7 6.Re1 0-0 7.Nbd2 Nbd7 8.c3 Re8 9.Bxf7+ Kxf7 10.Ng5+ Kg8 11.Ne6 1-0 Not bad to finish ahead of Bologan and equal with Ponomariov in the rapid play tournament in Mainz: http://www.chesstigers.de/cc/2004/d... |
Aug-09-04 | | iron maiden: How exactly do you pronounce Paehtz? |
Aug-10-04
 | | cu8sfan: <iron maiden> It's like Cats with a P. Actually the name should be written Pähtz with a umlaut instead of ae. But the umlauts sometimes mess up on the screen when you don't have a German computer. |
Aug-10-04 | | iron maiden: Thanks, the pronounciation was a lot easier than I'd thought. Now for Euwe... |
Aug-10-04
 | | cu8sfan: Whoa! Hold your horses! Euwe won't come until lesson 24! (-: As it's Dutch I don't know if I say it right. The second part is easy, "we" is pronounced like the beginning of "vent". "eu" is a difficult double-vocal which doesn't exist in English. Try to combine the "u" in "turn" with the "e" in "here". But maybe the Dutch don't pronounce it that way... |
Aug-10-04 | | LuckyFish: The next stage in the evolution of chess after Fischerandom will be Newtonrandom. We let gravity determine where the pieces start. |
Aug-10-04
 | | cu8sfan: <LuckyFish> There is a version of gravity chess: http://www.chessvariants.com/other....
(-: |
Aug-10-04 | | LuckyFish: I should have known. But it looks too much like the old Star Trek game on my old Kaypro PC. |
Sep-24-04 | | Stonewaller2: Definitely an unbalanced position, bada-BING. One thing you know for sure, sitting down across from the 64 squares from any young person, you can never win. You're either going to get waxed by "some kid" or beat unmercifully on some "slip of a girl." In her case I think it'd most definitely be the former . . . |
Oct-09-04 | | aw1988: <Now for Euwe...> UGH! The one million dollar question. :( |
Oct-10-04
 | | cu8sfan: <aw1988> The one million dollar question was solved on the Max Euwe page. Go to page 4 of the recent kibitzing and use the link I have given there and the explanations by User Profile: lostemperor |

Feb-28-05 | | bsprizzle: Damn she is lookin good. |
Feb-28-05 | | Abaduba: I think it's interesting how the old-guard female masters (Chiaburdenze and the Polgars, for example) tend to downplay their appearance, while many younger woman players are unashamedly selling their attractiveness (Paetz and Kosteniuk come immediately to mind, along with kibitzer favorites Rybenko and Stripchenko). I'm not sure whether or not this is a bad thing, but I wonder what prompted the shift. |
Mar-03-05 | | Appaz: I saw somewhere that this girl speaks four or five languages (don't remember the exact number), among them my own Norwegian. |
