Jan-05-15 | | cro777: GM Arkadij Naiditsch won two open tournaments in a row in Switzerland: the Zurich Open with 6.5/7 and the Chess Festival Basel, the tournament in Northwestern Switzerland (75 km from Zurich) with 5.5/7. Another interesting news is that "Chess Evolution: Top GM Secrets" weakly newsletter (written by GMs Naiditsch, Balogh and Miton) is going to experience some changes. Starting next week, GM Alexander Khalifman is going to share his thoughts on opening theory. |
|
Jan-07-15 | | cro777: A look at how Naiditsch pulled off a Swiss double - the traditional Christmas and New Year opens held in Zurich and Basel from the 26-30 December 2014 and 1-5 January 2015. https://chess24.com/en/read/news/na... |

 | | Natalia Pogonina: Beating Carlsen two games in a row with both Black and White is no ordinary feat. Congrats, Arkadij! :) |
|
Feb-04-15 | | whiteshark: He was found to be <Carlsen's Cryponite>. |
|
Feb-04-15 | | Appaz: Win the opening, yes; win the middle game, yes; but then go on to also win the end game - this was what Naiditsch was able to do that not many can achieve. Congratulations, great game! |

Feb-09-15
 | | Penguincw: Congrats to Naiditsch for coming close to winning the GRENKE Chess Classic (2015). He finished with 4.5/7 (+2,-0,=5). He also beat Carlsen with white in their meeting, but Carlsen still finished with 4.5 as well. Tiebreaks says Carlsen should've taken the title due to more wins (3 vs. 2), but a tiebreaker was held. First came 2 blitz games (10:2), with Carlsen winning the first game, and Naiditsch the second (both with white). Then came 2 faster games (5:2), with both games drawn (Carlsen took white in the first game). In the Armaggedon game (6:0 vs. 5:2), Naiditsch took black, but blundered and lost. Still an amazing performance, as he gained 11.3 ratings points and 6 spots on the live ratings to rise to 2717.3 and #32, respectively. The blitz games didn't count, but those 4 games would've earned him 30 ratings points, up to 2646.4. |

Feb-09-15 | | Appaz: Congratulations to Naiditsch!
He beat the World Champ in classical chess and tied him in the tournament. Then he held the World Champ of rapids to a tie. Then he held the World Camp of blitz to a tie, before finally giving in on the Armageddon. I'm sure most people rooted for this underdog in the end. It probably felt a little bad to lose that last game but that feeling will soon pass. Something to be proud of, the whole chess world is impressed! |

 | | AylerKupp: <Natalia Pogonina> Just think, the <chessgames.com> World Team was able to defeat the player who has recently defeated Carlsen twice in a row, yet we were only able to draw against you. Either you are better than some may think or maybe the <chessgames.com> World Team (and our chess engines!) is getting better. Or maybe a little of both. ;-) |

Jul-07-15 | | epistle: Ang sabi ng kagalang-galang, kapitapitagan, maginoo, makisig na Aleman: <cro777: Interesting Arkadij Naiditsch's remarks in the latest issue of Chess Evolution weekly newsletter (CEWN Nr.175) about his game against Wesley in Dortmund: "I have to say that to play against Wesley is everything but pleasant. He bangs the clock, caughs non-stop and plays the moves instantly without writing the move of the opponent down. Well, a lot of young players behave very badly at the board these days and I am sure that the incident of Wesley So during the US Championship where he got a 0 for writing strange things on his scoresheet will not be the last time he breaks the ethic chess rules."> |
