http://es.chessbase.com/post/dramme... Highlight for Stefanova, an entry in an elite closed round robin tournament, at Drammen, Norway (SmartFish Masters), year-end 2004/2005:
SmartFish Chess Masters (2004) She scored 3/9, sharing places with young Carlsen. Peter Heine Nielsen and Alexei Shirov (top-seeded and top ten player) won at 6/9. Carlsen beat Shirov, Shirov beat Korchnoi, Korchnoi beat Carlsen. An international invitation tournament not only based on ELO and category average with almost always the same top ten players, but also on the Narrative: ages, gender, different styles (don't mention Khalifman), and promising players from the hosting nation. Chess careers can again have a narrative and all sports need this. |

Apr-12-17 | | waustad: She is listed as playing for the European Chess Union instead of for Bulgaria at the European Women's Championship. Did she have a falling out with Danielov? |
|
Apr-12-17 | | waustad: Danailov that should have been. |
|
Apr-12-17 | | waustad: Her FIDE player card still lists Bulgaria. |
|
Apr-12-17 | | Nerwal: <She is listed as playing for the European Chess Union instead of for Bulgaria at the European Women's Championship. Did she have a falling out with Danielov?> The Bulgarian Chess Federation has been in huge trouble with both FIDE and ECU since last year. Apparently BCF is still expelled from ECU which is one of the organizers of this event. |

Nov-05-18 | | whiteshark: <Congratulations on your new member of the family, <Antoaneta Stefanova>>!! 02.10.2018
"Former world chess champion Antoaneta Stefanova got a girl at the age of 39. Papa is our very famous grandmaster, the 32-year-old Asenovgrad Ivan Cheparinov, one of our most talented chess players of recent years, and was the second after Veselin Topalov when Vesko became world champion in 2005. The baby bears the name <Melissandra>. The selection is inspired by the fantasy series "The Game of Thrones" by the American writer George R. Martin, in which the red-haired prophet Melissandra was one of the main characters. Cheparinov is currently in Batumi, Georgia, where he is fighting for the hosts of the chess Olympiad. Bulgaria has no team because our federation has been revoked. The team included Stefanova, but she was dropped because of the upcoming birth." Source:https://trafficnews.bg/bohemi/shahm... |
