Apr-03-06  blingice: <ARMENIA: Smbat Lputyan is one of the greatest Armenian chess players of Armenia!>

Is that so? An Armenian chessplayer from Armenia, huh?

Oct-08-06  Petrosian63: LOL. Leave Armenia alone...
Feb-18-07  argishti: ya, why do u people have to run down "ARMENIA" like this, the guy is happy for his country. you dont like it? you can suck it up!

alexmagnus: <An Armenian chessplayer from Armenia, huh?> That reminds me a bit of Hemut Kohl: <Die Mehrheit deutscher Frauen ist weiblich> ("The majority of German women is female") :)
Jan-10-08  hovik2003: <alexmagnus>
<An Armenian chessplayer from Armenia, huh?> We say it that way because we have minority of Germans and Jews in our country also (as ex-refugees), So blow your Nazi horn in the company of Helmut Kohl himself.
Jan-10-08  Karpova: <hovik2003: So blow your Nazi horn in the company of Helmut Kohl himself.> Could you please elaborate on that?
Jan-10-08  hovik2003: <Karpova: <hovik2003: So blow your Nazi horn with Helmut Kohl himself you jackass.> Could you please elaborate on that?>

I think I went too far so I softened my comment, I was annoyed with full page of sarcastic and racist comments about Smbat Lputian, like vowel famine of 50's, comparing him to Sinbad, and top of the all Armenian from Armenia! what is so special about that, and finally comparing him to Liliputs and etc. I didn't notice nothing about his chess that he is really good at it. I met the guy couple of times , he is 6 feet tall and handsome guy for his age, his name is from Bible Jewish name (Shembat) and he eats shish-kabab all the times.

alexmagnus: I myself wrote only one post at this page, and yeah, I'm not a Nazi (lol, as a foreigner in Germany, I simply can't be one:)). And what is so special about him being Armenian? That sounds more Nazi than anything. I mean, wouldn't you appreciate hin if he was Jewish or German player from Armenia?
Jan-10-08  Karpova: <hovik2003>
Why did you use the term "Nazi"?
Jan-10-08  haik: hovik2003, u owe an apology to alexmagnus
Jan-10-08  hovik2003: <alexmagnus>
I don't know why I called Magnus Nazi, probably it was the quote from Helmut Kohl, he always remind me of good old Nazis, well I was upset when for the first time I read other's past comments about Lputian, so I choose the latest and freshest one for retaliation, I apologize for calling you names.
Jan-10-08  Karpova: <hovik2003: it was the quote from Helmut Kohl, he always remind me of good old Nazis> Why?
Jan-11-08  hovik2003: <Karpova>
would you please drop this Nazi stuff, they belong to the darkest side of German and mankind history. If I recall rightfully Helmut is the son of SS officer, but that doesn't make him a Nazi no matter what, beside I just used this term to attack on <alexmagnus> with more impact, and it seems it worked allright. There was no other reason beside putting in more spice in my sharp comment toward him, I don't know the guy, and I apologize to him already. Actually I should admit I used old Nazi propaganda plot, as Joseph Goebbels (Nazi regime's propaganda minister) used to brag that "The bigger and more outrageous the lie is there are more people tend to fall in to believe it as truth"
Jan-18-08  arsen387: Let's change the topic. I offer to speak about mating period of kangaroos or maybe debate around global warming. Or an even better idea just struck me! Let's talk about Smbat Lputian and his chess.

Sep-09-08  Billy Vaughan: I can't read Lputian's name without pronouncing it "Liliputian" in my head :/

Honza Cervenka: <An Armenian chessplayer from Armenia, huh?> Well, there are also some Armenian players who are not from Armenia (in fact quite a lot of them as majority of Armenians lives outside of Armenia) and so this sentence can make some sense.

Open Defence: yes.. for example Tigran Petrosyan was born in Tblisi if I am not mistaken...

Honza Cervenka: <for example Tigran Petrosyan was born in Tblisi> Yes and Sergei Movsesian was born in Tbilisi too but it was then at least the same country. Armenians are still quite significant minorities in all neighbouring countries of Caucasus and Middle East and also many Armenians live for many generations completely out of region of their origin around the globe. Of some 8 million of Armenians 5 million live in diaspora.
Jan-04-13  abstract: Mr. Lputian is also known for the very boring variation of the french defence advance - Lputian variation.
Mar-16-13  mira94: Very difficult name.. Smbat Lputian
Aug-09-13  csmath: Many Lputian games are missing, some of theoretical importance.
Mar-12-15  Conrad93: No one has yet mentioned how his name is pronounced.
