0ZeR0: I'll just say that I was quite pleased to see Alexandra finally win the Rapid Championship. She had quite the 2021, as in addition to this tournament she also won the World Cup, team gold at the (online) Olympiad, team gold and individual silver at the World Team Championship, and was runner-up at the World Blitz Championship.

Atterdag: <Tabanus: No kibitzing? Where are the chess fans?>

Well, it seems that it's good idea to put a tournament on the map (CG's front page) BEFORE it begins and not AFTER it has been completed. While the first calls for the exitement of expectations, the latter calls for dry conclusions of the result.

Jan-09-22  Z truth 000000001: <<Atterdag> ... While the first calls for the exitement of expectations, the latter calls for dry conclusions of the result.>

I like this phraseology.

Tabanus: <to put a tournament on the map (CG's front page) BEFORE it begins> I told them in advance there were four events but they did not (want to) understand what I meant, and made only one "Championships".

<the latter calls for dry conclusions of the result.> I edited the standings table, added some missing games and corrected some game results, but in 2022 you will not have even that. I will have nothing to do with the new events from now on.

Atterdag: <Tabanus> My sincere apologies. I know that you do a tremendous work that deserves the highest respect and gratitude. My remarks were not meant for you - it was mean for CG which has neglected an abundance of services the last years. You, Sir, should be disheartened by my irony, since it was not targetted at you.

Atterdag: Of course, I should have written: "... should NOT be disheartened ...". Apparently, I am prone to error making these days, sorry :-)

perfidious: This calls to mind a line from the original film version of <The Big Sleep>:

Humphrey Bogart addressing butler:

You made a mistake; Mrs Rutledge didn't want to see me.

Butler: I'm sorry, sir; I make many mistakes.
