Sep-04-21  Atking: Am I alone to be impressed by Artemiev ’s play? Sure Firoujza shows a wonderful fighting spirit and brillant ideas but obviously the logical approach of Artemiev was the key of his success. He needs to grade up his self-confidence but then I see him among the top soon. (I mean up to 2750)

0ZeR0: No, <Atking>. You’re not alone. I too am most impressed with Artemiev’s play. It’s often quite instructive as well.

Well the games of the final haven't been posted yet due to them having just been played. And not everyone here has the ability to watch the live tournament broadcasts due to work or other obligations. And if you'd bothered to notice the previous knockout games were just posted and there is some interaction with them. Give it some time.

Sep-05-21  Atking: Magnus Carlsen shows what he learned from Garry Kasparov "Play the guy" In his match vs Firoujza, Artemiev's play (Somehow remembers me Rubinstein's) reveals a weakness, under a frequent time pressure the difficulty to consider a tactic opportunity in a bad position.
Sep-05-21  beenthere240: Carlsen won the second match handily although in the post match interview he sais that he had expected to lise the second game. He seemed to say that Artemiev was poorly prepared in openings, but my impression is that MC would come out even at best and then pounce in the middle game- hardly a novel approach for the champ.
