<1 Corinthians 13

1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,

10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.>

<The Promise of the Lord's Coming

The Second Letter of Peter

Chapter 3

This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you; in them I am trying to arouse your sincere intention by reminding you

that you should remember the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets, and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken through your apostles.

First of all you must understand this, that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and indulging their own lusts

and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since our ancestors died, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation!?

They deliberately ignore this fact, that by the word of God heavens existed long ago and an earth was formed out of water and by means of water,

through which the world of that time was deluged with water and perished.

But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been reserved for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the godless.

But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.

The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and everything that is done on it will be disclosed.

Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way, what sort of persons ought you to be in leading lives of holiness and godliness,

waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set ablaze and dissolved, and the elements will melt with fire?

But, in accordance with his promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness is at home.

Final Exhortation and Doxology

Therefore, beloved, while you are waiting for these things, strive to be found by him at peace, without spot or blemish;

and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation. So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,

speaking of this as he does in all his letters. There are some things in them hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures.

You therefore beloved, since you are forewarned, beware that you are not carried away with the error of the lawless and lose your own stability.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.

Amen.> Full Member

Oct-28-20  Ybr: An interesting analysis :

<It has been suggested that a Joe Biden administration will not revert to a Bill Clinton-era faith in engagement leading to political and economic liberalisation in China. This is especially because President Xi Jinping has thrown the gauntlet with militarisation of South China Sea islands, aggressive posturing in East China sea and Taiwan Straits, transgressions across the LAC with India in Ladakh, and a Made in China 2025 plan of seeking a disproportionate share of global manufacturing.>

Y Puerto Rico se une a los demas paices latinoamericanos con listas interminables de partidos politicos donde un candidato no saca 50% mas uno. 2020 un año para la historia.

Sidney Powell please just shut the hell up and stop your damn lying. The only thing you’re going to clean up is the @#$% stain you and @realDonaldTrump are trying to leave on the Constitution. “Vote for freedom”...We voted for freedom—from Trump!>

When you see the usual suspects trying to make this a liberal vs conservative thing when in all actuality, it is a battle for rule of law and the constitution, you know theirs was a false narrative.

Many Republicans and independents voted against him. Even some who voted for Trump in 2016!
Thank goodness he's out.

Dec-12-20  Ybr: < chancho: George H.W. Bush proved himself a strong leader in foreign policy after hitting Sadaam Hussein hard in Operation Desert Shield, but he still lost his bid for re-election in 1992, because as James Carville said: <It's the economy stupid.> Trump did ok in foreign policy by bringing something passable in the middle east, but domestically he was a huge failure in his mishandling of the pandemic and lying about it.

Huge unemployment numbers and the economy in tatters.

Trump's bungling, cost the lives of 300 thousand Americans who died of Covid-19, and all the vaccines in the world at this stage of the game cannot ever change that gruesome fact.

Trump's leadership was far worse than Bush's and the very idea of him getting a second term (Thank God he didn't) would have been insane.

The constitution proved to be a very resilient document at stopping the Orange Pimple's attempts at stealing the election, but he still managed to cause some damage.

It will take years to restore faith in the electoral system.

The worst part of Trump's failed attempt is that future candidates from either party can try the same tactic in weaponizing the electoral process with more of the same stupidity.

Hopefully, a sore loser like Trump is a once-in-a-lifetime anomaly that will never repeat itself in the American political scene.

Seeing democracy in peril was quite frankly a worrying sight.

Something I would never have imagined happening in America>

Thank you for this post , <chancho>
