moronovich: Barok seems to be the living proof that the real gambler depends on skills and calculation and the like instead of just closing the eyes and depend on lady luck. Keep up the good work !
Jun-06-10  wordfunph: <moro> maybe we belong to the latter.. :-)

moronovich: <wordfunph> You are damn rifgt ,for the moment,: We need a hell lot of luck ;)When skills dont work.
Jun-07-10  zanshin: <moronovich> I just came to the same conclusion. There's a tv commercial that says: if you believe poker is just a matter of luck, then how come finals tables have so many familiar faces?

The consistently strong chessbookie players have systems and some work better than others!

Jun-07-10  wordfunph: In round six the game Onischuk-Bologan was not played. We do not know the reason, but probably there was illness involved. We are told it will be played on Tuesday..

Jun-10-10  SugarDom: Ok. Got to wait for the next update. Thanks for the SMS...:)
Jun-11-10  wordfunph: <Sugardom> no. 9? :-)
Jun-11-10  wordfunph: <CG Bookie> results of Capa's 2nd round..

short-dominguez 1/2

Jun-12-10  malthrope: <Chessgames Bookie: <malthrope> Thanks for the research on upcoming events.>

You're welcome <ChessBookie> :) It just worked out that my monthly <Current Chess Events> calendar published for 'June' coincided nicely with the final month of the Spring betting leg. :) We're all hoping that you'll see fit to add some of those juicy <Pick-3's> challenges soon in the final bets... Always keeps us up on our toes!

<wordfunph: <CG Bookie> [...] thanks and good luck <mal>..>

Thanks <wordfunph> :) That classic set of betting quotes was simply too good to pass up!

Jun-12-10  technical draw: Hurray! TD is dead last! An accomplishment in it's own right. Just call me nodrawstech....
Jun-12-10  wordfunph: thanks also <mal>.. :)
Jun-12-10  wordfunph: <CG Bookie> Capa's 3rd round all games ended in draws..

i need my chessbucks for the last round of Poikovsky, thanks!

Jun-13-10  malthrope: <technical draw: Hurray! TD is dead last! An accomplishment in it's own right.>

My goodness <TD> that's quite a fine mess you've gotten yourself into this time... How dreadful to be dead last (in position #390 overflowing with $6,875 negative c-bucks) at the very bottom of the pit. :( Where's the poet, writer, editor and critic 'Edgar Allan Poe' when you need him?! o_O

Oh how I remember well your glory days when you were <"King of the Under Hill">... No one could touch you back then. :) When we were busy collecting and laundering our c-buck winnings you were busy giving all of it away! ~lol~ Ever consider paying a loan back to the <ChessBookie>? Never! :P Then you finally confessed your sins as to how you managed such an infamous feat. Now <CG.com> along with the <ChessBookie>, I suppose, started to find clever ways plugging up all of the leaks & holes. It was to be no more than but just a fond passing memory... However, I never forgot it! :D

There is hope <TD>... You did notice that <SwitchingQuylthulg> shot into "meteor mode" and acquired 5th place with $3,747 c-bucks (on the June 10th Leaderboard update). Just like the meteor it was only a brief flash in the sky but <Switch> is back now with $1,990 c-bucks and in 24th place. You can do it <TD> just like as in the movie "Field of Dreams." Clearly, I'm not trying to give you a free ride to 'ease your pain.' I'm just pointing out that anything is possible so long as you can dream it... That's a real pal for ya always giving a friend some hope. ;)

<Just call me nodrawstech....>

Had to 'Google' that one <TD>...

http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=nodr...

It appears to be a one of a kind singular entry! ~lol~ :P

All the Best, - Mal

PS: <wordfunph: thanks also <mal>.. :)>

:)) <my sheepish grin exposed again> ~lol~

Jun-13-10  technical draw: Thanks for the write up <mal>. Of course the reason I'm dead last is so that my rise from last to first will be the greatest accomplishment is Bookie history. Today begins my rise to the top, to fame and fortune!
Jun-14-10  bharatiy: hi <CB> these pick three are great! I t made me temporarily rich today, why cant we have it even for Capablanca also.
Jun-14-10  wordfunph: <CG Bookie>..

Jun-17-10  Wrong: oh no!! looks like chessgames have made a mistake in the bazna pairings!!
Jun-17-10  Boratco: <Wordfunph> Thanks. Time to go for broke. All or nothing!!
Jun-17-10  wordfunph: <Wrong: oh no!! looks like chessgames have made a mistake in the bazna pairings!!>
