Jun-17-10  Wrong: looks like that chessbookie players needs a refund
Jun-17-10  malthrope: <wordfunph: <Wrong: <oh no!! looks like chessgames have made a mistake in the bazna pairings!!>> <Wrong> you're not wrong.. :)

ChessBookie's 4th round sked:

Yue-Radja
Nisi-Carlsen
Gelfand-Pono

but based on chessbomb..

Carlsen-Yue
Pono-Nisi
Radja-Gelfand

which one is right?>

Yep, this is a total major bummer. :-(

For the record <ChessBookie> is following the 'official schedule' (which is absolutely the right thing to do). The organizers of the Kings' Chess Tourney event switched the pairings on us from Rd #4 with Rd #5 without any warning whatsoever. They get 'thumbs down' from me for bad organizational skills. Unless, they can cough up a very good reason for what they've done. ~lol~

<<Recommendation:> All bets pertaining to the Bazna Kings Tourney, Rd #4 (June 17th) be fully refunded. Since whatever we were betting on was based soley on the tourney table and results after Rd #3 and not the newly inserted Rd #4. That situation no longer exist... o_O We got shafted! ~ROFL~>

The new Bazna ballgame gets fresh bats, balls and gloves! ~lol~ Batter, batter, batter, batter, batter, batter - BATTER! :P

- Mal

PS: While we are at it one of these Capa Memorial pairings (Round #9, June 19th) is incorrect...

Capablanca Memorial: Rd 9: Alekseev vs Short

Capablanca Memorial: Rd 9: Nepomniachtchi vs Dominguez

Capablanca Me,orial: Rd 9: Bruzon vs Alekseev

Hint: Ivanchuk is MIA... I'll let someone else fill in with the correct info. I'm too steamed right now re: the Bazna pairings SNAFU. ~Arrg~

Jun-17-10  bluejay: Are all bets off for Round four given that the pairings changed?

Chessgames Bookie: All fourth round King's tournament tickets have been refunded and the ninth round Capablanca memorial now has the correct pairing of Bruzon vs Ivanchuk.
Jun-17-10  wordfunph: i slept early last night because of the wrong pairings and disinterested to watch the live games.

Mrs. <wordfunph> wondered and told her the whole thing..

..."good for your health" she muttered.

thanks <CG Bookie> for the announcement!

i lost $300 in Capa..

homestretch coming up guys, good luck to all of us!

Jun-17-10  edsauced: Is the Capablanca memorial the last tournament of the spring leg?
Jun-17-10  edsauced: I meant the Bazna tournament the last of the leg?
Jun-18-10  wordfunph: <edsauced> maybe Bazna..

but let's wait for <CGB>'s announcement..

Jun-18-10  malthrope: I'll repeat this once more for anyone that may have missed it... ;)

<"The new Bazna ballgame gets fresh bats, balls and gloves! ~lol~ Batter, batter, batter, batter, batter, batter - BATTER! :P">

Unless <ChessBookie> plans on entertaining us with a friendly betting game of <"Rock - Paper - Scissors"> the 'Bazna Kings Chess Tournament' undoubtedly ends it...

"Good Luck" everyone! :XD

Chessgames Bookie: Yes, fellows, the spring leg of the bookie championship will conclude with the Bazna Kings tournament. Good luck to everyone.
Jun-18-10  wordfunph: thanks <CGB>..

6 Bazna rounds left and Spring Leg is over..

goodluck to all!

Jun-18-10  edsauced: Looks like Bruzon - Ivanchuk Capablanca memorial round 9 has a different closing time than the other two games of the same round, 8 hours later. Please fix it.
Jun-19-10  4tmac: Sometimes you get The Bear....

Chessgames Bookie: <edsauced> Caught your warning on the earlier closing time of the Bruzon-Ivanchuk game too late to change it. Some punters might have missed an opportunity to wager on that game.
Jun-20-10  Winter: Whoa! DrStrangemove is not a stranger anymore. Coming from No.37 yesterday, he's now safe at No.2. Big payoff from Calsen maybe?
Jun-20-10  wordfunph: <Winter: Big payoff from Calsen maybe?>

or from Pick3? we'll be glad to hear from <DrStrangemove>..

Jun-21-10  alcausin: my best win ever

Capablanca Memorial: Rd 10: Dominguez vs Alekseev : Dominguez [cash in ticket] 300 YOU WIN! COLLECT 1314 7:2 4.38 1,314 Jun-20-10

=)

Jun-21-10  wordfunph: bro <alcausin>, hope you visit <Winter> and <Chnebelgrind>'s forum...we discuss nothing but chessbookie.. :)

Chessgames Bookie: The spring leg of the Chessbookie Championship ends on Friday, June 25. Good Luck to all!
Jun-22-10  wordfunph: thanks you <CGB> for the announcement..
Jun-23-10  technical draw: Wow. I owe the loanshark $10,000. I don't have enough time to recover so I guess TD is dead meat.
Jun-23-10  malthrope: <technical draw: Wow. I owe the loanshark $10,000. I don't have enough time to recover so I guess TD is dead meat.>

<TD> - your best option perhaps is to put the dead meat into a "Crock Pot" along with a healthy broth & vegtables mix. Then set the temperture on all day s-i-m-m-e-r. :) If that fails to do the trick there is only one last chance...

BET it all on <B-L-A-C-K> (if you know what I mean!). ~lol~

"Good Luck" to everyone. <*devilish 'betting grin' ensues*>

- Mal

Jun-23-10  Boratco: The only way I will not make it to top ten is if Carlsen falters his engine and Gelfand skips his birthday this year.:D
Jun-25-10  wordfunph: last betting day of Spring Leg... let's all enjoy the thrill of ChessBookie, good luck to all!
Jun-25-10  Boratco: I think, I am doomed and will face the final curtain, oh well, there is always the next leg. Goodluck, people.

This bookie thing is worst than cocaine.:d)
