May-24-05  Everett: LMAO, very nice, and visual too. Curse Aagaad for giving me "The Sight!!!!"
May-25-05  OneBadDog: <Everett> I hear you brother. Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble, when you're perfect in every way...

Jun-01-05  midknightblue: Thanks to Aagaard dogs everywhere no longer need to lick their bones. (please dont take that crudely, I mean no double entendre there, in fact I dont even think I know how to spell double entendre

chancho: <onebaddog> LOL, what chapter of the book is required reading when it comes to picking chicks?
Jun-01-05  Hanada: Thanks to Jacob Aagaard's new book I am now able to levitate. Thanks Jacob!!
Jun-01-05  OneBadDog: <chancho: <onebaddog> LOL, what chapter of the book is required reading when it comes to picking chicks?> Theres a special chapter at the end of the book called "Excelling at Gangstahood".
Jun-01-05  midknightblue: LOL, Aagaard was already one of my favorite authors even before I realized he could help me float over Waikiki beach and pick up bikini clad tourists at will.
Jun-01-05  OneBadDog: There's even a bonus chapter called "Excelling at the Macarena".

TheAlchemist: There's a section "Excelling at failing". Thanks to Jacob I have become a bigger loser than I had ever dreamt was possible.
Jun-01-05  midknightblue: What can't the man teach? Are there no limits?
Jun-02-05  Orbitkind: It's unfortunate that Aagaard has this boring joke perpetuating on his page.
Jun-02-05  OneBadDog: <Orbitkind: It's unfortunate that Aagaard has this boring joke perpetuating on his page.> You're right. That's why were all waiting for Aaagaards next book, "Excelling at Comedy".

chancho: <orbitkind> you need to read Aargard's chapter" How To laugh at yourself, and pick some chicks!"
Jun-03-05  OneBadDog: There's nothing wrong with a little humor, is there? All jokes aside, I have his books on positional play and combinations and they are both good books. I would like to think that if Aagaard were here, he'd be able to joke around with us. If not, I guess he could write about it in his next book, "Excelling at Vengance" LOL

chancho: I have his book "Excelling at chess". A really good book, it has helped me immensely.
Jun-03-05  OneBadDog: One interesting thing about his book on combinations-all of his examples are taken from the Sicilian defense.
Jun-05-05  midknightblue: No joking on this web page. I will be reporting directly back to <Orbuttkrud> so be careful.
Jun-05-05  themindset: yes, the combinations book is great for a player who plays both sides of the sicilian, like me. all real games, therefore all realistic postions.
Jun-05-05  Renfro the STRANGE: < OneBadDog >

There are a million books out on tactics. Is there some reason to buy Asgaards book if you already a few of these, especially Lein's book?

Jun-06-05  OneBadDog: < Renfro the STRANGE > There's a tactics number of books out there that are of comparable quality. The interesting thing about Aagaards book is that it exclusively features tactics in the Sicilian.
Jun-07-05  midknightblue: I have Lein's book Sharpen your Tactics and I am enjoying it very much. However, so far I like all of Aagaards books that I have: Inside the Chess Mind, Excelling at Positional Chess, and Excelling at Chess Calculation (I like this one a little less, cuz it has some repeated games identical to games discussed in Inside the Chess Mind). Anyway, he is still my favorite chess author. Dont have Excelling at Tactics yet, but tactics from all sicilian games does sound interesting. I say go for it Renfro!
Jun-09-05  OneBadDog: I'm interested in the disagreements between Aagaard and John Watson. Aagaard was critical of Watson's idea of "rule independence" and the two of them seem to have had an ongoing dialogue about the subject. Does anybody know if the two of them ever resolved this issue?
Jun-12-05  midknightblue: No, i dont think so. Watson still seems to be taking every chance he can to get digs in on Aagaard in his book reviews on Sillman's website. It seems to me they are both getting caught up in semantics. I am surprised that Watson seems to have taken the comments a little too personally.
