Mar-24-06 | | blackjacki2: <PinkPanther> That might have been the worst joke ever posted at chessgames. Pink Panther the movie was hilarious though :) |
Mar-27-06 | | SickedChess: <chessgames> please fix her Lastname since Alisa is divorced of Ivanchuk |
Mar-27-06 | | sitzkrieg: In this case, I dont mind. |
May-16-07 | | Astardis: Did she play only one game in the Moscow Open? |
Jan-18-08 | | brankat: One would think that based on her results and ratings she had earned a GM title. Happy Birthday! |
Apr-20-08 | | Astardis: Is she ill or something? It's been quite a while since we saw her play a game. And she was listed on the Russian Championships but didn't play. |
Nov-25-09 | | radicalcation: Some great posts from 2003 and 2004.
LOL |
Dec-23-09 | | Astardis: She looks terribly fluffy on some pics from the recent Soviet, I mean Russian, super final - maybe my guess 18 months ago about her being ill was not so wrong. Other than that she seems to be in great form here. I'm very happy to see her on 3/3 now. Way to go, Alisa! Show them sisters that it's you who belongs into the national team! |
Dec-23-09 | | siggemannen: I read on russianchess that she recently gave birth to a baby (so as our own Natalia Pogonina), which might explain the "fluffiness". Congrats to her on the baby and on winning today :) |
Dec-24-09 | | siggemannen: Well, actually recently was 2 years ago, but they were insisting on calling her "young mom"... |
Nov-22-10
 | | HeMateMe: nice game by black, deep Queen penetration seals the deal. Is she divorced from the chukster? I wonder why she keeps the hyphenated name? |
Feb-13-11 | | patzer2: <HeMateMe> According to http://www.hinduonnet.com/tss/tss25... Ivanchuk and Galliamova separated in 1996, but had a child together. However, I notice that at the official FIDE site http://ratings.fide.com/id.phtml?ev... they do not give the hyphenated name. Nor is the hyphenated name used in the chessbase report at http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail... of Allisa Galliamova winning the 2010 Russian Women's championship. So perhaps the use of the hyphenated name for this player at chessgames.com is outdated and needs to be updated and corrected. |

Jan-18-14 | | waustad: FYI, the Chinese response link http://www.chess.co.uk/twic/twic203... just leads to a page of ads now. |

Jan-18-14 | | HSOL: waustad, it can be found here now: http://www.theweekinchess.com/html/... |

Nov-08-18 | | sonia91: Interviewd at the Women's World Championship KO (2018), Galliamova said: "The current system of determining the champion is nonsense. Everybody is on edge, everybody can lose a single game and get eliminated. I don’t think such competitions deserve the World Championship status. I am happy that we are coming back to a former system". For reference in the next women's WC there will be a Candidates' Tournament. https://twitter.com/ugrachess/statu... |
Nov-08-18 | | sonia91: <Alisa Galliamova: It is good that we are coming back to candidates tournament> https://ugra2018.fide.com/2018/11/0... |
Jan-20-19 | | Damenlaeuferbauer: Her opinion is absolutely right! The old system "Zonals - Interzonal(s) - Candidates matches or tournament - Long (at least 16 games) match between challenger and title contender" between 1948 and 1996 was simply the fairest and best. By the way, I saw her 21 years ago in 1998 standing and drinking a paper/plastic cup of coffee and smoking a cigarette, the black hair cut shortly and wearing black/white clothes. I have never seen a female chess player of such beauty again. |
Jan-18-22 | | Ironmanth: Happiest of birthdays ever, Alisa Galliamova! |
Jan-18-23 | | Damenlaeuferbauer: Congratulations to Alisa Galliamova for celebrating her 51st birthday and a lot of health and success in the royal game! As I mentioned 4 years earlier, I saw her 25 years ago in summer/autumn 1998 standing and drinking a paper/plastic cup of coffee and smoking a cigarette, the black hair cut shortly and finger and toenails painted red, wearing black/white clothes combined with black high heels. I have to admit that she was the classiest female chess player I ever saw in my life. Time flies! |
Jan-18-23
 | | MissScarlett: Further congratulations on surviving being married to Ivanchuk. |
