 | | chessgames.com: We updated his game collection, and now it's even more striking! Apparently he played a lot of 'coffeehouse chess' and many of his miniatures have ended up in print, ergo in databases. I found this on the web:
<In his column in The Illustrated London News, Baruch H. Wood, International Arbiter and founder of the British periodical Chess, once wrote about David Gedult:"Gedult was a soldier. Wherever he went, he sought out the chess players and, I believe, never departed happy from any town, big or small, without vanquishing all the local cracks. His chess was perfected and polished in the fire of keen practice against all comers... His wit, rather like his chess and probably his sword, had been whetted on granite." Now chessgames.com doesn't want to remove such duplicates unless they are sure that it is the correct version that is left on the site. This is a sound policy imo. |

It sharpens your senses, you concentrate on good lines, because your opponent has already begun conducting an attack! A real hustler's opening. (also its very fun to mess around with 1200 rated players...) |
