Jan-07-07  Rubenus: What after 16...Qf3+ and Qxf4? I think white is two pieces down without compensation.

  FSR: Rubenus' comment looks correct to me. In the game continuation, I wonder why Gedult didn't play 17.Nd6+ Kd8 (17...Kf8 18.Qf7#) 18.Qe8+ and now (a) 18...Nxe8 19.Nf7# or (b) 18...Kc7 19.Qxc8+ Kb6 20.Qxb7+ Ka5 21.b4# (or 21.Nc4#)? There's no way he didn't see this.
Aug-29-13  Dezaxa: 16. Bf4 is premature, because of 16...Qf3, as Rubenus says. Instead, White should have played 16 Ne5 first, then after 16... Kd8, 17. Bf4 Qxa1, 18. Nf7 Ke8, 19. Nd6 which wins as per FSR's line.
