Sarasadat Khademalsharieh was awarded the titles of WFM in 2008; WIM (2011); WGM (2013); IM (2015); World Girls Asian U12 Champion (2008); World Girls U12 Champion (2009).
In addition to her world championship triumphs of 2008 and 2009, Khademalsharieh came equal third in the World U14 Girls Championship 2011 and third in the Iranian Women's National Championship. She was runner-up behind defending champion Aleksandra Goryachkina in the World Junior Championship (Girls) (2014), scoring 9.5/13.
In open competition, Khademalsharieh scored an excellent 5.5/11 in the 10th Khazar Open Chess Tournament A in 2012, including a win against veteran Azeri GM Sarhan Guliev. That result also produced her first IM norm. In March 2012, Khademalsharieh played in the Caissa GM event in Hungary and while she scored only 3/9 in this relatively powerful tournament, it was an above par effort which included another win against a GM, former Yugoslav Champion Zlatko Ilincic.
In April 2013, Khademalsharieh scored her second IM norm at the Nakhchivan Open, scoring the requisite 4.5/9. Her third IM norm arrived when she represented Iran on board 2 at the Istanbul Olympiad (Women) (2012) in Istanbul, scoring 7/9.
In December 2022, Khademalsharieh played in the FIDE world blitz and rapid championships without a hijab, in defiance of Iranian law. After the tournament, she bought a house in Spain and moved there on a residence-based visa. The Iranian government issued an arrest warrant against her.
Her name is frequently abbreviated to "Sara Khadem".
