Jan-22-20  LameJokes:

After 21...Ne6 22.Qd6 Qd6 23.Rd6. May be three pawns Vs piece ending. I would like to see what happens next.

Jan-22-20  Ulhumbrus: Perhaps Firouzja's idea is 21...Ne4 22 Bg2 f5 23 Bxe4 fxe4 offering the d6 pawns but making a threatening weapon of his king side pawns
Jan-22-20  sudoplatov: Nice unbalanced material. Black may do well in the ending. I'd guess White has to attack, probably the Kingside as the Queenside seems pretty sound. I don't see where the attacking pieces should go; either the Knight or Bishop probably goes on d5, the King on b1, the Rooks where?

An Englishman: Good Morning: Thought Black would play 20...Bex5. Oh, well, must have missed something again. Looking at 22.Qxd6,Qf6 and Qg5.

After 21...Ne6 22.Qd6 Qd6 23.Rd6. ...>

After 22,Qxd6 I'd prefer ...Qf6.

Jan-22-20  Ulhumbrus: If it somes to an ending it remains to be seen whether White's king's bishop turns out to be more powerful than three pawns.
Jan-22-20  Atking: <Ulhumbrus: If it somes to an ending it remains to be seen whether White's king's bishop turns out to be more powerful than three pawns.> Exactly.
Jan-22-20  ossipossi: Bishop Is precious in such endgames, sometimes better than a Rook.
Jan-22-20  LameJokes:

<offramp: After 22,Qxd6 I'd prefer ...Qf6.>

Yeah. Qf6 is already on the board. Althouhg, without chopping on d6. Firouzja seems to like your move.

Jan-22-20  Count Wedgemore: I'm sure 22...Qf6 is all well and good, but 22...Rc8 looked more to the point. Surely Black must seize the c-file with his Rook soon.
Jan-22-20  Atking: More and less equal but somehow I prefer Black. 23...Rc8 for 24...Rc5 ~ 25...R8c8 Black rooks are active more quickly than white

An Englishman: Good Morning: Not sure that ...Rc8 ever would have posed problems, given that White could play Kb1, as has already happened. Which brings up a good question: not what's Black's best move, but what's Black's best plan?

  Mateo: I expected 22.Qxd6.
Jan-22-20  sudoplatov: Bishops are really good a stopping Pawns in an ending. The question here is if Black can organize things before White launches a mating attack with the extra piece. (Perhaps not enough to mate, but maybe to pick up a couple of Pawns.) I'd guess that 23...Rac8 is what I'd play; however White may gain a tempo here and there with Ba6 or Bb5 (on the way to d5. As White, I'd like to get in h5 and open a file against the King; Perhaps Black will have to play ...h5 sometime.
Jan-22-20  diceman: <An Englishman:

but what's Black's best plan?>

Id say get rooks doubled on the c file.

Jan-22-20  AdolfoAugusto: What does sesse or chess24.com module say? Black is really winning?
Jan-22-20  Atking: with d pawn on d4 Black position seems preferable.

Mateo: 24.Qxd6? was refuted by 24...Red8.
Jan-22-20  diceman: <AdolfoAugusto: What does sesse>

I think sesse only watches Carlsen. :)

Jan-22-20  Atking: Time to play 25...d5! as 26.Nxd5? Qf5+ 27.Ka1 RxN 28.QxN Rc1+
Jan-22-20  Pedro Fernandez: Hi all! Light squares are under white domain, mostly if the bishop manages to be placed on the main diagonal. Black kingside is quite powerful due those lot of pawn. Very hard game for both sides. Hopefully we watch a very excitant game.
Jan-22-20  Everett: I’d rather play black here.

I first became acquainted with the sac of a minor piece for two pawns and the initiative from Bronstein’s games. Obviously it’s been done both before and since, yet I’m always reminded of him when I see it on the board.

Jan-22-20  diceman: Looks like white's bishop should have gone to g2. Looks out of the loop on b5.
Jan-22-20  Ulhumbrus: 26...d4 holds on the d pawn after White has delayed taking it
