Pun Voting Booth

OhioChessFan: beatgiant and tga have inspired me to write a new pun for this game:

"This Pun Didn't Get the Most Votes in the Pun Voting Booth!"

Oct-09-18  thegoodanarchist: Pun proposal:

<4A Good Time>

OhioChessFan: That's almost too good to consider.
Oct-09-18  Count Wedgemore: I try to come up with a good A4ism for this game.

beatgiant: Why is everyone assuming only four A's? Alekhine's middle initial is also A, so it's at least five. It might even be six, depending on Andriyashev's middle initial.
Oct-09-18  Count Wedgemore: <beatgiant> Probably five. I venture to guess the Andriyashev in question is the Historian Alexander Mikhailovich Andriyashev. There is an article about him on the Russian wikipedia: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9...
Oct-10-18  thegoodanarchist: <OhioChessFan: That's almost too good to consider.>

OK, then. Howsabout <Massacre on d4>?

OhioChessFan: In a shocking development, cg.c chose today's pun, "Vulnerable f7" despite a landslide of votes for <tga's> entry, "Vulnerable d4". This is sure to be challenged in court.
Oct-10-18  Count Wedgemore: The level of GOTD puns on this site is sinking faster than Ted Kennedy's Oldsmobile.

OhioChessFan: In a shocking development, cg.c chose today's pun, "Unorthodox Defense" despite a landslide of votes for <Count Wedgemore's> entry for this game, "Andriyashev's Unorthodox Defense". This is sure to end up in the courts.
Oct-11-18  thegoodanarchist: I voted for "Ted Kennedy's Oldsmobile" to be pun of the day.

Oct-13-18  Howard: Didn't know that Ted Kennedy was driving an Olds that fateful night--was the make of the car mentioned in the recent movie. I saw it, but don't recall.

Honestly, I don't know. I'm just riffing on what <Count Wedgemore> wrote:

Alekhine vs A Andriyashev, 1905 (kibitz #32)

Oct-13-18  Howard: Had a bumper sticker on my dorm room wall decades ago which read:

"More people have died in Ted Kennedy's Car Than in Nuclear Power Plants."

Oldsmobile Delmont 88

<Had a bumper sticker on my dorm room wall decades ago which read:

"More people have died in Ted Kennedy's Car Than in Nuclear Power Plants.">

Technically you'd have to put Ted in charge, and place them underwater.

<perfidious: Were there other passengers in that ill-fated Olds than Mary Jo Kopechne?>

If human beings were around, she may have lived. All she had was a politician.

Clearly pre-Chernobyl. Even so, it was not entirely accurate.

There is a claim, I understand, that there was another woman in the car, and she, not Kopechne, was Kennedy's mistress at the time. There is a podcast (NOT by an Alex Jones type) about it. But that's all I know.

Oct-15-18  Diademas: So where does that leave us with the pun <Ohio>?

"Two Woman and an Oldsmobile"?

Oct-16-18  diceman: <Diademas:

"Two Woman and an Oldsmobile"?>

"Two Woman and an Old Schlemiel"
