May-17-06  LluviaSean: Hmmm...some beginner's book told me to move a single piece just once in the opening...Mr. Maeder over here just moved his knight 5 times against the former world champ!!!

fredthebear: This is not a KIA. Those who know their Sicilian opening theory will recognize this game as the main line of the Closed Sicilian 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.g3 g6 4.Bg2 Bg7 5.d3 d6. White's main options are 6.Be3 followed by Qd2 and possibly 0-0-0, and 6.f4 followed by Nf3 and 0-0. Karpov then began to play knight games.
