Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-30-20  dehanne: I thought the Schallop Defense was crap.
Apr-30-20  Captain Hindsight: This may have been the case in the Seventies (of the last century).

juan31: The World Champion playing King gambit, that's news, but he fail.
Apr-30-20  KingsGambiteer: Schallop might be the easiest way to play against the King's Gambit. Free pawn with no real danger.
May-01-20  SirChrislov: it's difficult, but why not follow up 24.Bxe5 with Ne2?
May-01-20  Viking707: Carlsen seems too cavalier about pins, and Ding makes him pay for it.
May-01-20  0o0o0o0o0: Both players qualified for final four. Carlsen seems to want to entertain since his name is the invite. He also played the Scandi in their match, clearly looking to gets bums on seats. Ding is obviously quality and can't been brought down with these lines. All good for us though!
Sep-04-21  Messiah: Excellent job!

fredthebear: We are fortunate that Magnus Carlsen is so willing to play numerous openings at faster time controls. The Spanish game does get a bit boring if that's all that is played.

This is the last of six King's Gambits that MC has played with the White pieces in this database.

One of them even in classical, when it worked better against another Chinese player:
