Nov-15-23  Rdb: Now , I think that criticism of <messiah> and <fredthebear> towards admins is irrational - they are in the wrong and admins are in right .

However , you guys do not see me writing angry posts when these two people criticize admins so very often .

You guys do not see me fighting with these two guys when they complain and criticize admins

I think you guys got my point/drift

Peace and respect

Regards 🙏🙏

fredthebear: Who knows how many times this latest rant was posted? He loves it.

Messiah - Edit your Profile preferences. You can remove users on your ignore list by checking the box. Maybe I should let Laughy Saffy out of the box to see if he still thinks Joe and Hunter Biden are innocent? Of course, he does!

Hey, don't forget to... ugh, well, ugh... Hmm. The kids, that must be it. The kids...

No, The STOVE!

Oh, ugh, yeah, here's a forgetful knock knock knock joke that I sorta remember...

Three brothers age 92, 94 and 96 live in a house together.

One night the 96-year-old draws a bath, puts his foot in and pauses. He yells down the stairs, "Was I getting in or out of the bath?"

The 94-year-old yells back, "I don't know, I'll come up and see." He starts up the stairs and pauses, then he yells, "Was I going up the stairs or coming down?"

The 92-year-old was sitting at the kitchen table having coffee listening to his brothers. He shakes his head and says, "I sure hope I never get that forgetful." He knocks on wood for good luck. He then yells, "I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door."

Heh-heh

Nov-16-23  Rdb: So , I see that <fredthebear> has no response to my challenge

I proved that < I leave <fredthebear> alone and it is he who talks to/about me and then only I respond and then too he huffs/puffs , gets abusive and such whereas I try to remain calm >

<fredthebear> has no refutation/rebuttal

Messiah: Just to be very accurate: I do not agree with <stonehenge>'s post in the slightest.

fredthebear: I feel your exasperated pain MrMelad. This website operates like no other. Insults are standard operating procedure. Freedom of speech does not include public decency. I don't approve of such -- just telling you how it really is.

I feel obliged to point out that we are grateful for the numerous contributions of stonehenge. Sooner or later, most of us (but not all) cross the line with our comments, intentionally or not as part of the give-and-take exchanges. The regulars are quite calloused, inflexible, opinionated, closed-minded. Tens of thousands choose to leave rather than put up with non-stop harassment from hardliners. Some stay and just remain silent much of the time.

Messiah -- we'll probably get shut down again for expressing our truths and opinions (at least I will). As you know, some of us are not allowed to have Freedom of Speech with regularity. We're supposed to keep quiet and pretending nothing is wrong.

In the USA, we have Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday in November. That would be tomorrow. It was started by the Native Americans and Puritan pilgrims, who came here in 1619 to escape religious persecution from the King's church. It's a huge family feast, not a religious holiday but a federal holiday. We do count our blessings and give thanks to God Almighty for his provisions. After a big lunch of carved turkey, stuffing, yams/sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, rolls and pies, my family watches football on TV and plays checkers, dominoes, cards, etc.

Anyway, I'll see ya when I see ya. Time for some fresh face paint!

Gobble! Gobble!

Nov-22-23  MrMelad: <fredthebear> Thank you for your comments. However, I don't believe what was said can be dismissed as <Sooner or later, most of us (but not all) cross the line>.

Nazism and antisemitism should not be seen as something people inevitably "get" sooner or later. I can handle insults and harsh criticism. I've encountered plenty on this website. But this was unlike anything I've experienced before – it chilled me to the bone.

Despite the poster's significant contributions to this website, decency must precede chess. Crossing certain lines risks alienating many other members, potentially leading to the community's dissolution.

fredthebear: Yes, face-to-face chess is a rather prim and proper sport where the rules are strictly adhered to - a clear-cut right and wrong with good manners expected. Some regulars on this website generally behave in just the opposite manner, with the effects of the Rogoff page spilling over elsewhere.

Your feelings are valid MrMelad. I hear your message. I seriously doubt you will get the response you expect or deserve with this holiday weekend coming. The internet is a cold, impersonal place, difficult to work out differences.

Another common factor is a person's status on the website. Your dignity elevates your status on a human scale. Stonehenge has a well-earned status.

You should also be aware that a gang mentality exists. A problem with one person soon becomes a problem with his "buddies" as a certain poster likes to say. Sooner or later, others will turn on you, and not just for the sake of argument. You become a permanent punching bag regardless of the merits of your future statements. It soon becomes personal for the sake of being hurtful; the debate becomes secondary. Lies/mischaracterizations will be told about you and repeated frequently; it's allowed.

Stand up for yourself and speak the truth. Your message, your integrity is your satisfaction. Be careful not to post when upset or you'll say things on emotion that you will regret later.

Remember "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

Nov-22-23  MrMelad: <fredthebear> Once again, thank you for your comments. They are wise! You've artfully articulated some of my vague thoughts, giving them depth and clarity.

Chess is why I came here first but the community is why I stay. Most people here are intelligent and civilized.

I urged <cg> more than once to close the rogoff page and delete all posts there for the danger of “spillage”. This is why I stayed away from there for over 12 years.

But the time has come for me to speak up, and that infamous incident just encourages me that my decision to speak up was the correct one. My voice should be heard and it is heard, evidently. Whatever the personal price I have to pay

Nov-30-23  stone free or die: Hiding behind the deletion Fred? Hmmm....

<Nov-30-23 fredthebear: Thanks man.

All the nasty, perverted, dishonest filthy trash all over the place and management sees fit to delete our posts instead. Such wimps. It's a blatant, deliberate double standard of unfairness and lack of regulating the guidelines properly, evenly.

It wasn't this way when David was around. There was way, way more posters back then too.>
