Jun-29-16		AlicesKnight: On the Zugzwang point I am largely with <Once> and <Phony Benoni>. In the game why does White remove his Q from the action, after opening the centre, with 23.Qa4? - six moves later the mausoleum is taking shape.

Jun-29-16		The Kings Domain: Not much of a Trick or Treat for white, his pieces at the corner pocket of the board look like terrified civilians huddled during a massive bombing assault. One of the most unique and amusing games in the the sport's history.

Nobody agrees on the definiton, but everybody knows one when they see it.> In case of zugzwang - the definition is simple - a position in which passing the move is better than making any move (f.x., any move loses and a pass would draw). But the actual zugzwang happens so rarely that people like calling any hopeless position a zugzwang. Even the "immortal zugzwang game" is not a zugzwang.

Jun-29-16		alexmagnus: <morfishine> By "loses" I mean the objective eveluation of the position being a loss (whereas passing a move would create a position that is drawn or won for the passer). Another case is a position where any move draws and passing would win.

Jun-30-16		KID Slayer: Although I love beating the KID all the time (though not with the Korchnoi Attack that looks far too slow to start the queenside assault), this is quite possibly the greatest and funniest zugzwang game I've seen. Perhaps 23.Re1 (not 23.Qa4?, which ignores the threats that Black has in store on the kingside) would have spared White any troubles by preventing the key 23...Qe7 that allows Black to swoop his queen over to e3 and clog up White's kingside's surroundings.

Aug-29-24		Nasruddin Hodja: Meh. Since I'm a fan of the classics rather than Halloween references or lame puns (yes, I've submitted my share of the latter), I would go with renaming this game "Antony and Cleopatra". The final position fits.
