dernier loup de T: If Staunton would have played 48. Bf1 (equivalent, he was lost anyway), von der Lasa could answer that; but Staunton chooses a withdrawal of the bishop which keeps a tactical eye on f5 and his opponent falls in the trap; now it's draw; insteed after for example 48..Kh5 49. Kf2 Bg4 50.Ktxg5 Re2+ Black was still winning.

offramp: Vd Lasa played strongly after the opening. He had raking bishops at b6 and b7. He advanced his kingside pawns and Staunton got really worried about the attack. Staunton gave up a knight for the 2 kingside pawns.

User: dernier loup de T says that Herr Lasa missed a win at move 48. The last 20 moves are quite interesting.
