offramp: He might have meant, "Kasparov gets the next queen first".
Oct-29-04  sharpnova: this game is trash. thanks to microsoft allowing vote stuffing
Oct-29-04  aw1988: I dislike Microsoft. "It is a feature, not a bug." It may be, but certain features can be highly irritating.
Dec-07-04  ArturoRivera: In move 50 the world was winning?
Mar-18-05  Whitehat1963: Kasparov has beaten "The World." But will he be able to defeat whoever will become his political opponents?
May-03-05  Saph: I've noticed that "the World" plays more erratically than one person would. It interestingly echoes a cacophony of voices, much like Australian parliament, and perhaps many other governments.
Oct-30-05  Isolani: After white's 10th move I debate whether to play O-O or Qe6!? in this position with black. Since this theoretical novelty Qe6!? was played in this particular game years ago has theory decided whether this move is sound or not?
Jan-02-06  morphyvsfischer: Apparantely, Kasparov publicly apologized for playing 3 Bb5+, which I don't really understand why he did so. 3 Bb5+ isn't bad at all.
Jan-24-06  prinsallan: Good game.
Feb-15-06  MorphyMatt: At least we lasted 62 moves!
Feb-15-06  MorphyMatt: And that was my 150th kibitz
Apr-22-06  Nikita Smirnov: Where on Internet?
May-28-06  Confuse: this game is analyzed thoroughly on wikipedia. its very interesting and u should take a look if u want to kill some time : )
Jun-22-06  MindRotorVia: This ending is probably drawish according to books although the defence is very difficult, and against Kasparov there is almost no chances even by a strong player.
Jun-22-06  harcee sarmiento: on move 25 of black... i guess one more correct approach rather than 25...Bd4 is 25...Be5!?. Now after 26.Qb3 f4! where if 27. Qxb6 im following it by 27...Bd4!! (A)28.Qxb7 Ke6 29.Qb3!? Kf5! 30.Bh4(B)Qxb7 Ke6 29.Qc8 Kf7!
Jun-27-06  kakhander: <The 58th move in the Kasparov vs. The World event was the crucial move in deciding the game.

The World had a choice between Qe4 or Qf5, choosing the former. Many felt that Qf5 was a better move, but Kasparov has shown that even in this case he would have been able to force the g-pawn through to make a queen>

I saw the analyisis, but i almost got crazy seeing so many variations.

Jun-27-06  RookFile: I remember this game, and thinking that Kasparov's 35. Kh1 was the best move of the game.
Aug-20-06  you vs yourself: <Rookfile> What was the point of 35.Kh1? Why not 35.Kg2?
Aug-21-06  syracrophy: <you vs yourself> I think both are the same, but I think 35.Kg2 is better, for in some cases, the king can go support his own pawns.
Aug-21-06  you vs yourself: <Syracrophy> That's what I thought too. But I was wondering why <Rookfile> thinks it's the best move of the game.
Aug-21-06  EmperorAtahualpa: Perhaps <RookFile> is confused with Irina Krush's suggestion 51...Ka1.

Honza Cervenka: <63.Kg5 Qd5+ 64.Qf5 Qd8+ 65.Kg6 Qd6+ 66.Qf6 Qb8> Instead of 67.Kh7 Qc7 68.Qxd4 Kb1 mentioned in my previous post white can play here immediately 67.Qxd4 and black is lost. For example, 67...Qe8+ 68.Kg5 Qe7+ 69.Qf6 Qc5 70.Kh6 leaves black without reasonable check and 70...Qc8 71.Qg5+ and 72.g8=Q is immediate end. 68...Qb5+ is not better check than 68...Qe7+ due to 69.Kh4 and once again no check as well as no pin of Pawn is available to black and 70.Qg1+ with next g8=Q makes any of black's Q8 moves or Qb3 covering g8 quite useless attempt. Unfortunately, black has no time to improve the position of his King here as 67...Kb1 68.Kf6 leaves him checkless facing the threat Qg1+ and g8=Q, which cannot be stopped satisfactorily. If 68...Qg8, then simply 69.Qb4+ with next 70.Qf8, if 68...Ka2, then 69.Qc4+ and g8=Q.
Aug-21-06  pokemonman: Kasparov all the way!
Aug-21-06  pokemonman: My dad is the 2nd best chess player I've ever seen play. Kasparov was the 1st.
Aug-21-06  RandomVisitor: After 54...b4 my computer, with 6-piece tablebases, says that it is a mate in 83 (!).

Better is perhaps 54...Qd5 =.
