Bastia Open (2005)

Open 7-round Swiss played in Bastia, Corsica, France, 30 October - 2 November 2005, with double rounds the three last days. Time control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, with 30 seconds added per move from move 1. Chief organizer: Léo Battesti and the Corsica Chess Club.

Krishnan Sasikiran won on tiebreak ahead of Predrag Nikolic, both with 6.5/7. Only 105 games were made available. The top 24 players played qualification Rapid matches in the morning of 3 November, after which the 12 winners joined four seeded players for the Corsica Masters (2005) Rapid KO 1/8 finals in the afternoon the same day.
