Apr-23-18 | | Marmot PFL: Carlsen vs R Wojtaszek, 2018 |
Apr-23-18 | | truepacifism: Vulcans are honest folk, not inclined to lie, but I'll go one step further; I bet on this game but not for Carlsen.
I didn't expect him to win, although I have placed bets on him before for an obvious reason. Anyway, I am holding onto enough money to reimburse my "illegitimate" money, because I don't know if I'll be docked or not. |
Apr-23-18 | | truepacifism: Also, my honesty here is probably moot since it isn't likely to matter.
Being 64th out of 69 means that I am unlikely to rise to the top ten category, anyway. |
Apr-23-18 | | redribbon3700: I seem to have not been payed for correctly predicting Carlsen-Wojtasek. |
Apr-23-18
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <Carlsen-Wojtasek> Oops, my mistake, it's been graded as 1-0 instead. |
Apr-23-18 | | truepacifism: Just like I thought - the money was deducted - and I am where I thought that rightfully I should be. |
Apr-23-18 | | zborris8: The Loanshark is broken on my account somehow. It says that I owe a lot more than I actually owe. Thanks. |
Apr-23-18
 | | Chessgames Bookie: We have this in our logs
<Mon Apr 23 13:26:28 2018 (zborris8) (redacted) PAYBACK AMOUNT=303 NEWBALANCE=0> and later
<Mon Apr 23 13:34:05 2018 (zborris8) (redacted) BORROW AMOUNT=400 NEWBALANCE=400> I see you owe a little more than that at this time. I think I might have an idea of what happened but I'll have to get back to you. |
Apr-23-18 | | Marmot PFL: <Oops, my mistake, it's been graded as 1-0 instead.> Thanks! |
Apr-23-18 | | sydbarrett: The draw-draw-draw-draw-draw-draw-draw's knocked me down at the start of a season again lol. Down but not out.. I shall return. Also, WB, WinKing. |
Apr-23-18
 | | Chessgames Bookie: Hello all! This is <WinKing> & it's good to be back. I would like to thank you all once again
for all of the condolences you left me on my mother's recent passing. I want you all to know that I will try & pay off bets as quickly as possible. I may be a little late On Wed. the 25th of April on account of I have some business I must tend to.
I have not set up a schedule for the Spring Leg yet but should have one up in the next few days so stay tuned to the ANNOUNCEMENTS box. Good luck to everyone! |
Apr-23-18
 | | Chessgames Bookie: I have added a couple of Over/Under bets one for Shamkir & one for the U.S. Champoinship. We all like a little variety in our betting so as time goes on I'll see what I can cook up. ;) |
Apr-23-18 | | zborris8: <Chessgames Bookie: <Mon Apr 23 13:34:05 2018 (zborris8) (redacted) BORROW AMOUNT=400 NEWBALANCE=400> I see you owe a little more than that at this time. I think I might have an idea of what happened but I'll have to get back to you.> I made a payback of 400 so the remainder could be cleared when you guys have time to figure it all out. I think I was borrowing and paying back too frequently. I thought that the amount I could borrow was correlated with the number of times that I borrowed and paid back, like earning a good reputation from the Loanshark, but I guess the game isn't geared like that, haha! "C'mon Sharky, just this once. You know I'm good for it!" <WinKing> Good to see you back again. |
Apr-24-18
 | | chessgames.com: <zborris> Were you involved in the Carlsen-Wojtasek kerfuffle by any chance? There aren't many places where the code will adjust a loan other than the loanshark itself, where everything is logged. The primary place where a loan can be adjusted by the software is when somebody cashes in a ticket, spends the money, and then later we learned that the ticket was paid off improperly. If the person has the money, it just snatches it from their account, but if the money is gone and it's unable to take the money back, the remainder gets added to their loan. With Carlsen-Wojtasek that's exactly what happened for some people. I haven't done the research to try to figure out if that's what happened in your case, but it would explain it. |
Apr-24-18 | | zborris8: <chessgames.com: Carlsen-Wjtasek> Yes, that was it. I placed 80 to draw for that game and the AI must have created a winning ticket somehow. Off to pay it back. Thanks! |
Apr-25-18 | | sydbarrett: Ok... so I finally "matured" and bet 200 on "draw"... on Mr. Draw... Giri... and... it's time to take a break soon if this keeps happening. ;,,( |
Apr-25-18 | | whiteshark: somehow then a bad choice |
Apr-25-18 | | Count Wedgemore: <sydbarrett: it's time to take a break soon if this keeps happening. ;,,(> Don't be a quitter! Winners never quit, and quitters never win. |
Apr-25-18
 | | FSR: <sydbarrett> Me too! What the hell is wrong with Giri, going and winning a game like that?! |
Apr-25-18
 | | FSR: <ChessBookie> The Shamkir games are over. Giri won (<sob>) and the other games were drawn. https://chess24.com/en/watch/live-t... If you have a chance to cash out the bets before today's U.S. Championship round begins, that'd be great! Thanks! |
Apr-25-18 | | truepacifism: "If you have a chance to cash out the bets before today's U.S. Championship round begins, that'd be great! Thanks!" I second that request. |
Apr-25-18 | | morfishine: "If you have a chance to cash out the bets before today's U.S. Championship round begins, that'd be great! Thanks!" I third that request
(I'm doing so terrible I need to pad my long shots) |
Apr-25-18
 | | Annie K.: So... I was just passing by, and I have the keys too, so I paid it off for y'all. ;) |
Apr-25-18 | | truepacifism: Thank you Annie K! |
Apr-25-18 | | WinKing: Thanks <Annie K.> I was too busy today to make early payouts. |
