FSR: <syd> Only bet $100, alas.
Apr-20-18  sydbarrett: Thanks for the updates. What would I do without you...

FSR: <sydbarrett: Thanks for the updates. What would I do without you...>

Probably lose all your chessbucks and finish almost last, like you did in the Championship Leg.

Apr-21-18  sydbarrett: lol I could have played on, but I quit after a week because I had other things to do. I wouldn't have won, but if I persisted on, I'm certain I could have finished in the middle. Why are you stalking my results. Please don't be mean sir

If this round turns into another full set of draws... ugh

Apr-21-18  sydbarrett: So like I bet "snoozefest" as insurance in case my white-black bets don't pan out... but right now Top might become the only one to score a win and he's the only player I didn't bet money on? So I don't get any white-black bets AND I don't get snoozefest insurance. Gee

If that happens I quit. Hope that makes you happy FSR

Apr-21-18  morfishine: I'm out of chessbucks. What happens next?
Apr-21-18  sydbarrett: Use Kickstarter maybe?

chessgames.com: <I'm out of chessbucks. What happens next?> The loanshark is your friend. If he doesn't give you at least 100 bucks, try again the next day.

<All> Does anybody know when the rest days at Shamkir are? I've been up and down their site and can't find anything.

Apr-21-18  Count Wedgemore: <chessgames.com> Seems like there is only one rest day (on April 24th), scheduled to be after round five, at least according to chessbase:

  chessgames.com: Thanks!
Apr-21-18  redribbon3700: Love the Firstblood? bet
Apr-21-18  zborris8: No payouts yet? I'm blocked from making any wagers. Does it take a day sometimes, or is it just a glitch? Says it's supposed to pay April 21.
Apr-22-18  sydbarrett: Yeah zborris8... same here. I need the payouts to wager further. This long wait for payout is rare. Maybe bookie passed out in the bar? ;-) :O
Apr-22-18  Boomie: I have one losing ticket, Akobian-Xiong, which has not cleared.
Apr-22-18  truepacifism: I have the same problem as zborris8. Also, I owe the Loanshark and can't pay him and am being charged $1 for every $100 that I borrowed. Only 40 minutes till betting closes and I can't bet anything.
Apr-22-18  truepacifism: Betting is now closed for the morning games, I couldn't bet anything at all. I'll have to be patient and wait for the later games.
Apr-22-18  truepacifism: Perhaps, an equitable way to even the odds would be to give everyone,, IDK, $1500. I bet on the mistaken assumption that I would be able to pay back my loans, I bet too much too quickly and must pay the price, so to speak. I'll be more prudent in the future.
Apr-22-18  sydbarrett: <truepacifism> Paying back bookie too early is bad if you're in debt- you will have less to bet with because you can't borrow as much again, I think? I would just keep betting with what you have without paying back. If I'm wrong someone correct me

Chessgames Bookie: Apologies for the delay in settling the bets. I fully understand the pain and frustration of not having any money to place wagers with, and the inconvenience of not being able to pay your loans back in a timely manner. (As <sydbarrett> correctly noted, it's often a good idea to hang on to your loan anyway - but the Bookie cannot predict whether that will be the case. The best time to hang on to a loan is if it's worth more than half your net worth.)

Unfortunately, and understandably, <WinKing> has much more important things to look after right now than the Bookie game. I'm not currently Bookie in any official capacity (indeed, I'm supposed to be retired as Bookie), but since I still had the keys and this looked like a time for adult intervention...

Chessgames administrators will run the show until <WinKing> returns, hopefully without any further need for unofficial cameo appearances from me.

Chessgames Bookie: Thanks Switch. I was about to pay off the bets, save the ongoing Giri-Liren, which is looking strongly like 0-1.

<WinKing> That's great news, I'll email you all of the new credentials.

Apr-22-18  truepacifism: Yes, I have been paying my debt off too quickly to avoid the penalty, but it is better not to do this. I have learned that.
Apr-22-18  truepacifism: Fortunately, I was able to bet on the afternoon games, so thanks for doing the payoffs in time for that.

:)

Apr-23-18  Marmot PFL: Carlsen won today, that should pay off, not draw.
