Chessgames Bookie: Some bets are up, good luck!

Regarding the programming issue last season that caused some odds to show up miscalculated, that was due to a method of seeding new bets with money. That "feature" has been disabled. I may continue to seed some bets manually.

I included a new type of bet called "WEIRD OPENING MOVES". You can bet that at least one game in the US Championship will feature 1.b3, 1.g4, 1.Nc3, etc. If more than one of these offbeat moves wins, all winning moves will be paid off. Of course there is the "NONE" option for you naysayers.

Question: does anybody have the US Championship pairings?

Penguincw: It's not going to affect my decisions, but for all 3 "winner" bets, will tiebreaks factor in the winner of the bet?

Thanks.

Chessgames Bookie: <It's not going to affect my decisions, but for all 3 "winner" bets, will tiebreaks factor in the winner of the bet?>

Sorry for not clarifying; they will count in the US Championship (as there is only one champion) but NOT in the Gashimov Memorial where I typically ignore tiebreaks for payout purposes. I will update the text accordingly.

Also — I wasn't aware that the US Championship started today; I thought it was a ceremonial day. So sorry. All bets regarding that will have to be avoided. Since nobody won the "weird move" category, we can keep that one.

We'll feature daily game betting with the US Championship; sorry for the mistake.

Penguincw: < Also — I wasn't aware that the US Championship started today >

I was hoping those bets could still count as a mid-tournament bet. I guess it could still be done later.

---

I also noticed for US Championship: Weird First Moves, 1.f3 is missing. I guess at this point it would be best to include it in "NONE".

Thanks Bookie!

Apr-19-18  sydbarrett: Congratulations to you, Count Wedgemore. You have a great name for a formidable foe, and I am therefore eager to do battle with you.

Very sorry to hear about your mother WinKing. My family is a complete mess (I'll spare details of the bitter history and ongoing madness), and mother is the only one who cares and whom I consider family. I can only imagine how hard it is. The flowers are blooming, life is returning, hope you shall heal.

Chessgames Bookie: <1.f3 is missing. I guess at this point it would be best to include it in "NONE".> Oh, my oversight. Well, I don't think it will matter.

Also note we added a last minute bet for US Championship Rd 2: Caruana-Lenderman. We'll have more complete betting later in the tournament.

Apr-19-18  Count Wedgemore: <sydbarrett> Thanks for congratulating me on my momentous achievement. As for our future epic battles, I can only say: BRING IT ON...

And good luck! (You're gonna need it := )

Apr-19-18  sydbarrett: ::peace sign:: ::tongue sticking out::
I don't know how to make smileys here so there ya go.

I wagered everything plus loanshark money today. I'm glad I mostly broke even so I can still play on for one more day.
