Open Defence: we need more of his games.. no wins in the database yet :(
Jun-17-07  technical draw: One tournament, 1/5. Not a Grandelius start to a career.
Jun-30-07  Quagmire: Nils Grandelius right now has a rating of 2271. He also has one IM norm.
Jul-11-07  cuendillar: He is currently leading the Swedish Junior Championship (under 20) with a full point and two rounds to go. Second is FM Victor Nithander followed by other players between elo 2200-2300.

<technical draw> He's 13 years old. A single tournament doesn't mean all that much.

Oct-28-07  Quagmire: Elo 2377 + 2 IM norms now.
Oct-05-08  gunsan: Now: 2464, Number 12 at the Swedish ratinglist.
Jun-04-09  Pennypacker: This kid is flying under the radar a bit. Today he beat Sokolov (2669) in a nice game. And at the young age of 15-16 he's a name for the future me thinks.

Jun-05-09  Ecplecticos: Hopefully he will play and take part in WJCC, scheduled in Argentina this October 2009. The future Swedish "Magnus Carlsen"....
Jun-06-09  acirce: <The future Swedish "Magnus Carlsen"....>

Or not quite... :) He is a big talent, but nowhere near that.

agreed, if you study his games you realize that he is strong player but definitely not nearly as imaginative/creative as Carlsen. without constant creativity, you can never rise over 2750.

my prediction: 2600 at most, if he tries hard enough.
