May-26-06 | | midknightblue: Clyde Nakamura, AKA "The Evil One" is a chess player from Hawaii. He is not related to Hikaru Nakamura in any way. Clyde writes a chess column for chessville.com in which he talks about some of the unusual gambits he enjoys. He likes very unusual gambits and has invented some of his own. He is a former state champion or co-champion, but this was several years ago. |

If only Jay Boehner has played this guy on the circuit, we could have some dangerous "Boehner and Clyde" outings. |

 | | King Street: Clyde Nakamura passed away on October 11, 2021. He inspired many players in Hawaii and online to learn about his unique style and original openings. He was one of the strongest players in Hawaii since the 1970's. He directed many local tournaments in the early years. He stopped playing in tournaments in the late 1990's but began writing columns for Chessville and some small periodicals. |

Apr-14-25 | | wrap99: Met him in LA maybe 1986. Nice fellow, sorry to read of his passing. |
