Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-10-10  SvetlanaBabe: Bill is a legend. At one time he has beaten every leading chess player in Australia at least once including GM Ian Rogers. He is respected in Asia.

Former President of the once prestigious Melbourne Chess Club.

Nov-10-10  I play the Fred: IIRC he was cited by Jonathan Rowson, in his book The Seven Deadly Chess Sins, as the one who promoted "The Theory of Infinite Resistance"; the idea is that most bad positions can be held with proper defense.
Nov-10-10  sneaky pete: Maybe so, but that concept is attributed elsewhere to Cecil John Seddon Purdy, who in turn gave Lasker the credit for applying <infinite resistance> in practical play.

GrahamClayton: IIRC, didn't Bill change his name sometime back in the 1980's - Satyam Bill or something similar?
Jul-19-20  billjordanchess: I am the current Australian senior champion.
I enjoy coaching and writing about chess.
