The game is level. It is very dynamically level!

BTW this was played at the classical time control.

White took the opportunity to occupy c5: 18. Nc5.
Black replied with 18...P-R5, and White, upon being provoked, played 19. Qf7.

Wei Yi had HAD ENOUGH.

Did you spot the knockout move?
26. Red1!⭐⭐⭐⭐
Anyway Aronian, or Arywanian, Black defended very well.
26...Nd5 was forced, but Aronian was going to counter-attack. .·°՞(っ-ᯅ-ς)՞°·.
28. Qf3.

28...Qe7 might have been a good move.
I real life Aronian played 28...Qf6, to swap the old queens.

There is a very good king hunt which hoi-poloi will enjoy.

Retireborn: <offramp> Houdini thinks Black can equalise with 21,,,Re7 22.Qh5 Nf4 and

(i) 23.Bxf4 Be8! 24.Qd1 [24.Nxc6 Bxc6] Rxe1+

(ii) 23.Qf3 Ne6

For a computer variation this doesn't seem very complicated, but I suppose 21...Ne7 is the natural human move.

One wonders what percentage of GMs would spot 22.Bh6. Sacrifices on empty squares always impress me.
