Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-17-23  goodevans: A monumental blunder by Praggnanandhaa in a position where he was roughly equal. Watching him at Wijk aan Zee a few weeks ago it seemed he was prone to the occasional brain-fart.

Maybe a Tuesday puzzle of the future.

  fredthebear: That's a fine puzzle.

Praggnanandhaa seems to have slipped lately, but I couldn't fault anyone for not seeing this.

Feb-18-23  SChesshevsky: Not a good game by Pragg. Probably far below his standard.

Shows as he gives up an awful lot for what looks like some sort of king side attack. At 25...Qh6, white has an extra (passed) pawn, a monster N, centralized queen, connected rooks, decent/good B. Black does get an exposed white king but his pieces aren't well placed at all.

Interestingly, after the 21...Bxh2+ trick check. Black doesn't get another check in for his attack and whites king remains undisturbed. And it's a white check and king threats that end the game.

Maybe Pragg a bit on tilt after round 1? Maybe trying too hard v. country man rival? Don't know why such an ugly game? But not indicative of his strength and will likely see much better.
