Nov-18-10  Oxnard: Totally incomplete. Are we going to have to settle for these half-finished games? Does any source in the world actually have the correct game scores?
Nov-18-10  Eyal: <Does any source in the world actually have the correct game scores?>

It can be reconstructed from the video of this game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKJ4...

After 32. Bxf4 it goes: <32...Nd3 33. Rf1 Nxf4 34. Rxf4 Qe6 35. Qe1 Qe5 36. Qg3 Nc5 37. Ne3 Be6 38. Rf2 Qxg3+ 39. Kxg3 Kg8 40. Kf3 Rd2 41. Re2 Kf7 42. Kf2 Bb3 43. Bxb3+ Nxb3 44. Ra3 Nc1 45.   offramp: Thanks very much <Eyal>, but there are dozens and dozens of these incomplete games! I suppose any of them are on YouTube - but these are games of chess, not the Kennedy Assassination!
Nov-19-10  Ulhumbrus: 16 a4 weakens the point b3 which Carlsens attacks at once by 16...Qf7. Instead of this, 16 Nh4 heads for f5

17 b4 concedes the point c4 to Black's pieces. 17..Bxe3 concedes the bishop pair, and although the square c4 is very useful to Black's pieces White is not yet unable to gain the advantage from his Bishop pair.

20 b5? not only concedes the square c5 to Black's Knights but makes the a pawn a weakness as well and a target on a4 for a N. Perhaps this is the move which passes the advantage to Black. After 20 a5! White may still have the advantage.

31 f4 invites the fork ...Nd3 removing White's bishop pair and increases Black's advantage. 31 f3 may keep a chance to draw.

In one way there seems little point in commenting on a blitz game: A Grandmaster can make a beginner type blunder, and it should still not reflect badly on him, because anything can happen in a blitz game.

kingscrusher: <Eyal> Thanks very much - I really wanted to video annotate this game but the game scores I found were incomplete. I checked your continuation with the video of the game, and it seems completely correct to me so I will now video annoate it.

kingscrusher: Ulhumbrus: I think it is a very interesting insight into the intuition of two top GM's. Personally I find this blitz games quite fascinating and hence will be video annotating some more of them.

Dec-21-10  elohah: We're only in Rd. 1 here, so Carlsen is still fresh off his pre-afternoon Bieber snooze.

Tired of handing out free positional lessons to Nak, he decides to actually turn one into a full point this time.

Notes...

17 ?

17...!

20 ?

24...!

34...White's game is already resignable.

38...Why not 38...Qxc3!

77...! One has to wonder if Carlsen NAILED this move down. A move that made the rafters ring, as I.A. Horowitz was wont to say.

Sep-12-14  Garech: Great positional play from Carlsen, very aesthetic game!
