Jul-11-09  AgentRgent: I want to see another Kramnik win!!!!
Jul-11-09  Bondsamir: If 43.Qd6 then ...Qd5, i think.
Jul-11-09  OneArmedScissor: o geez...
Jul-11-09  Ulhumbrus: On 43 Qd4 Qd5 44 Qg4 Qf7 45 Re6 Kg7 46 Qd4+ offers to repeat moves by 46...Kg8 47 Qg4 Kg7 48 Qd4+ etc

ketchuplover: I was think axb4 too
Jul-11-09  AgentRgent: 43...axb4 was better I think
Jul-11-09  just a kid: Could this possibly be a draw?

kamalakanta: Black is better. His rook is more active, and the White King cannot cross over to the queenside. Technical win.
Jul-11-09  Ulhumbrus: Was there any need for Kramnik to exchange Queens by the move 43...Qxc5? On 43...axb4 44 Qd6 Qb8 seems still to win after 45 Qxb8 Rxb8 46 e7-e8/Q+ Rxe8 47 Rxe8+ Kf7

kamalakanta: After 46...Re5 the ending is won for Black. Outside passed pawn!
Jul-11-09  dotsamoht: ...Ra7 and bring the king up to hit the c-pawn?
Jul-11-09  just a kid: After 46...a4.Is the best move 47.Ra2 Ra7,then bring the king out to the queenside by 48.Kg3?
Jul-11-09  Dionyseus: Analysis by Rybka 3 x64 4CPU:

44...c2 45.Rc3[] Rxe7 46.Rxc2[] Re5 47.Kg3 Kg7 48.Kf4 Kf6 49.Kf3 g5 50.g3 Kf5 51.Rc4 Rd5 52.Ke3 Ke5 53.h4 gxh4 54.gxh4 Kf5 55.Rf4+ Kg6 56.Rc4 Kh5 = (-0.21) Depth: 28 00:03:01 55413kN

Jul-11-09  Ulhumbrus: The move 46...a4 seems to suggest the purpose of the move 43...Qxc5: Kramnik is going to place his Rook behind the passed a pawn. It remains to be seen whether this is a technical win for Black.
Jul-11-09  vonKrolock: the exchange of ♕♕s was that kind of agreement... this ♖♖s EG must be drawn

kamalakanta: <just a kid: Could this possibly be a draw?>

I think White has some drawing chances. But Black should win. Rook endgames are tricky.

Jul-11-09  just a kid: Tell me about it.=)
Jul-11-09  cornflake: I'm not so sure the a pawn is enough for black to win here.
Jul-11-09  waustad: The Petrov <can> be more than a quick boring draw.
Jul-11-09  Knight13: <dotsamoht: ...Ra7 and bring the king up to hit the c-pawn?> Sure. But once the c5 pawn gets killed, white takes the a pawn. Equal trade.
Jul-11-09  Dionyseus: Looks drawn.
Jul-11-09  Craigokat: black must contain the white king ...Re4
Jul-11-09  just a kid: Kramnik was playing very brilliantly in this game 43...Qxc5? might be the mistake that cost kramnik the win.

kamalakanta: It does look quite even now.
Jul-11-09  dotsamoht: ...Re4 might just work!
