FM Craig VanTilbury Born July 30, 1957. Citizen of the US. Holds titles of F.I.D.E. Master and International Arbiter since 1986. Has played first board in ten olympiads since 1978 for both the British and U.S. Virgin Islands. Won Individual Gold Medal for the best score on First Board of any national team in Thessaloniki, Greece 1984.

Craigokat: This game reminds me of a comment made by the late Boris Kogan during the postmortem of a game we had just finished. After he obtained a pawn on the sixth rank (not passed but protected) he exclaimed "of coarse after this, all endings are lost"

Craigokat: Fischer (among others) has instructively shown the clear edge of the B vs.the Kt with pawns on both sides of the board. In this position it seems that having more pawns actually shuts down the B to a certain extent and will ultimately provide an effective outpost for the knight. ...
