Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-13-21  saturn2: I was thinking of 18...Bxg3 when white has only a smaller advantage. For example. 19. Nxc7+ Bxc7 20. Bxc4 fxe6 21. Nxe6 Bxe6 22. B- xe6

When Lg5 is played I think twice before Qc7.

Feb-13-21  Brenin: <saturn2>: Your line could continue with 22 ... Bf4+ 23 Kb1 Bxg5, and a Pawn down but with opposite coloured Bishops, Black may see drawing chances, though 24 Rd7 is going cause problems.
Feb-13-21  goodevans: <saturn2> I think white would play 20.exf7+ before 21.Bxc4 in that line. If black takes on f7 his K gets stuck in the centre so it's probably best he doesn't. Maybe 20.exf7+ Kf8 21.Bxc4 Bf4+ 22.Kb1 Bxg5 but then how does he stop white's e-pawn?
Feb-13-21  Brenin: Gashimov was 11 when he played this game. He became an IM later that year.
Feb-13-21  Ironmanth: Amazing game; brutal concentration of pieces in the center. RIP Vugar Gashimov. Y'all stay safe out there today. Play hard, play fair, play often. ;)
Feb-13-21  thegoodanarchist: Years ago I submitted one of Enders' games, with the same pun.

Then a few weeks ago, I deleted some of my pun submissions, because I had given up on them. My <Enders' Game> pun was one of them.

Now I come to cg.com and see this!

beatgiant: <thegoodanarchist> There is an automatic filter in place to prevent submitting duplicate puns. After you deleted yours, it became available again.

Also, whoever chooses the puns here seems to go for recent submissions.

The moral of the story is, if you've got a good pun you submitted a long time ago, try deleting and re-submitting.

OhioChessFan: The same pun was run in 2010. I thought of the pun a while back and discovered it'd been used.

OhioChessFan: That's the primary reason I kibitz pun titles. At least someone can do a search of the phrase and see it's been used. There's also <Phony Benoni> alphabetical pun listing.
