Dec-03-05  Xeeniner: nice. but what about 11. ...Kg8?
Dec-27-06  Zorts: Not only that but 17...Kf8! is also better for black, is it not?
May-09-07  alshatranji: Not only is 17...Kf8 better, it's enough to save the game and refute White's interesting, but unsound sacrifices. After 17...Kf8, the best White could get is a perpetual check: 18. Qh6+ Ke7 (...Kg8?? 19.gxf6 and wins)
19. Qxf6+ Kf8 (...Kd7?? 20. Qd6#)
20. Qh8+ Ke7
21. Qf6+, etc.

nice. but what about 11. ...♔g8

<Xeeniner>,

11....♔g8 12. ♗xg5 ♕c7 13. ♗f6 and mate on g7 will quickly follow.

fredthebear: Given that 17...Kf8! saves Black with proper play:

16.BxQd8 is good for White, although it does not lead to checkmate. 16...RxBd8? drops off by check-and-fork 17.Qg5+.
