Hirschfield now gets a massive bee in his schtreimel about checking the black king. In doing so he expends every ounce of cordite in his armoury.

So White has had his lovely little check and has castled, he has also won a pawn! But he is behind in development. He (and I) wold like to play 15.c4, but it looks too dangerous to play another pawn-move.

15. Nc3 Rae8 16. Nd5 Qf5 17. c4

So he got in ♙c4 after all. Now Kolisch schould have doubled rooks by say 17...Re6/18...Rfe8. Instead he gives Hirschfield a chance. 17...Ng3?

18. Re1? <18.Qxg4+!!=> 18...f3! Wallop!

Now the pawn is going to f2, so 0-1.
