Sep-22-03  PinkPanther: Fischer playing the Ruy Lopez with the black pieces?
Sep-22-03  refutor: sure! he even played it v. tal Tal vs Fischer, 1962
Nov-26-05  dzanone: Check out his record with the Sicilian against Gligoric. As black he lost two and drew two.
Nov-26-05  aw1988: This game was obviously a conspiracy against Gligoric.

perfidious: Never again did Gligoric play 1.e4 vs Fischer; he wasn't up for any more surprises.

Here's another Spanish with Fischer as Black: W G Addison vs Fischer, 1963.

May-02-11  willychess: What if 9.Nxc6 dxc6 10.Bxc6?

Is Qh4 the refutation (sacrificing the rook)?

One example line

9... Qh4 10.Bxa8 Nxf2 11.Rxf2 Qxf2 12.Kh1 Bg4!!

Is it ok?

May-02-11  bronkenstein: <Is Qh4 the refutation (sacrificing the rook)>

What else but 10 ...Qh4 ? 10 ...Ba6 seems to be weaker ( 11 Q:d5 !? Bxf1 12 Qxe4 ) , 10 ...Nxf2? 11 Rxf2 Qh4 12 Qf3 even worse .

May-02-11  willychess: In my last post is 10... Qh4 instead of 9...Qh4 in the example line given. Sorry.
