   May-02-07 Y Gusev vs Flohr, 1955 (replies)

dzanone: 43.Rxc5+ Kxb4 44.Rxe5 Will it be impossible to stop the b-pawn? A rook can be such an asset with an open board; I wouldn't resign here. Of course I'll never play anyone of Flohr's excellent abilities.

May-02-07 Janowski vs Bogoljubov, 1914 (replies)

dzanone: This looks like a Monday Puzzle; if I get it, it must be a Monday. Hey, I'm first.

dzanone: I got my chessbucks, thank you, but I never saw any open events. Everyday since I got my bucks I would check in and see closed events. Have they been opening and closing really fast?

   Mar-27-07 A Sznapik vs M van Gils, 1986 (replies)

dzanone: Am I missing something? If black takes the bishop Qxg6+ leading to mate. Black looks cooked to me.

   Mar-09-07 Robert James Fischer (replies)

dzanone: I was on vacation when his 60 Memorable Games was about to be released. I made my folks stop at every book store we saw and finally found one in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I still have it today, 40 years later. A great player, indeed. I wish you peace, Bobby.

Mar-03-07 Petrosian vs Tal, 1962 (replies)

dzanone: I'm not trying to pick a fight, but if Tal had not been smoking so much, perhaps he'd still be with us.

   Dec-29-06 Szabo vs G Fuster, 1937 (replies)

dzanone: 46...h4 47.Kxh4 f6 48.Kg4 Kg7 49.Kf5 Kf7 50.h4 Kg7 51.g4 Kf7 52.h5 Kg7 53. h6+ Kxh6 54.Kxf6 and White can make no headway. I wondered why no one mentioned having the King take the pawn; it doesn't go anywhere.

   Oct-19-06 F Elsness vs N Borge, 1995 (replies)

dzanone: Sac the Q on move 11 and win on move 54; pretty impressive!

   Oct-17-06 D Byrne vs Fischer, 1956 (replies)

dzanone: I wonder if this is the biggest spread between a Q-sac and mate: 23 moves!

Oct-11-06 G MacDonnell vs De Vere, 1867 (replies)

dzanone: Three of Black's pawns are isolated; White wouldn't have resigned.
