Nov-27-13 | | Meaux: Oh my, after further review, castling there was where he went wrong. |
Nov-27-13 | | Meaux: Bobby, I hope that you can hear me from chess heaven and forgive me: You were an American hero in 1972 and are still my hero today. I am reading ENDGAME and have a fresh perspective and a whole new theory regarding your behavior in the end. I just really miss you! |

Dec-02-14 | | MindCtrol9: Fisher was outplayed in this game.Tal played solid the aperture in this Sicilian.Good coordination. This is an instructive game. |
Dec-02-14 | | 1d410: Not even close |
Jan-29-15 | | auldoxon: Fischer got into a very bad position without an apparent blunder. I guess 11. f5 is the first mistake, followed by some inaccuracies. A credit must be given to Tal for his great play. He did make some inaccuracies late in the game but this didn't hurt because he already had decisive position. |
Jan-29-15 | | auldoxon: Perhaps the variation that Fischer played is relatively weak. |
Jan-30-15 | | RookFile: I'm not an expert on this, but I don't think Fischer usually put the queen on f3 in all those games he did win with this. |
Mar-08-15 | | Uhohspaghettio: The queen does go on f3 in the main line of 6. Bc4. No guys these moves are all standard book and you won't be able to pick out the first inaccuracy made without a lot of research and likely a computer. |
May-31-15 | | reenareena: Well done tal |
May-31-15 | | reenareena: I am beginner can any body tell me what is sciscilian dragon how to play |

 | | naisortep: Video of the game where Tal pretends to play c6 is available here - although it might expire on Twitter. But its bound to pop up somewhere else on the internet. https://twitter.com/OlimpiuUrcan/st... |

 | | kingscrusher: I have done a new and revised video annotation of this game going into more of the hidden variations and details here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1C...

 | | WannaBe: So this is the one where 1...c6 became 1...5 =)) Not the other one that took place in Oct.
Fischer vs Tal, 1959 |
Nov-14-16 | | diceman: <WannaBe: So this is the one where 1...c6 became 1...5 =)) Not the other one that took place in Oct.> Looks like it.
In the video you can see Benko playing
Petrosian. Benko opened 1.Nf3.
That and this game were round 13.
The game you listed is round 27,
in that round, Benko opened 1.d4.
(thank goodness Benko switched openings!) |

 | | WannaBe: <diceman> Yeah, and Tal went 4-0 against (young) Fischer!! =)) |
Jan-08-18 | | Petrosianic: <technical draw>: <Thanks <HeMateMe>. That's my pun...> I don't get it. This is Game 2 of the series, not Game 4. <WannaBe>: <Yeah, and Tal went 4-0 against (young) Fischer!! =))> That's okay, it was also a young Tal. |
Jan-11-18 | | technical draw: <Petrosianic I don't get it. This is Game 2 of the series, not Game 4.> It's because they played 4 games in this candidates tournament and Tal won all four. This has to be one of Fischer's worse games ever. |
Jan-11-18
 | | perfidious: <td....This has to be one of Fischer's worse games ever.> Sounds about right, but in my opinion, Fischer vs Keres, 1959, played five rounds before this debacle, was an even nastier defeat for the young grandmaster. As Wade laconically noted in his work on Fischer: <Vintage Tal> |
Jan-11-18 | | technical draw: <perfidious> And in both games Fischer had white. The final position in this game looks horrendous for Fischer. Say it ain't so, Bobby! |

Jan-31-18 | | RookFile: Actually I don't know how Fischer even played 32. Kh3 with a straight face against Tal. He would have deeply understood that black never gets it so good in something like the King's Indian where you bet the house on a kingside attack. Resigning was probably a better choice. |
Jan-31-18 | | ughaibu: <black never gets it so good in something like the King's Indian> Is the sicilian something like the kings-indian? |
Jan-31-18 | | morfishine: I think Black plays the Sicilian vs <1.e4> & the Kings Indian vs <1.d4>...other than that, they are identical defenses...I think ***** |
Feb-01-18 | | RookFile: I'm just thinking of black's counterplay down the g file. For example, in this game Lombardy murders Reshevsky: Reshevsky vs Lombardy, 1958 |
