i don't think it's too weak a move. he could have tried 8...cd or c4 instead of 8....a6 losing a tempo. he could counter any tries to bring the knight to d6 with bc7 |

5...c5 doesn't change much since the bishop could only go to c5 if he gets attacked and then d4 would win a tempo for white hadn't black played 5...c5. |

Nepomniashchy beating Sengupta with it in 2006. CG doesn't seem to have that game but given these successes it's surprising 5.h4 hasn't been tried more often. |

It's definitely useful whenever you have white pawn on e5. I also have interesting story here. I needed quality picture for my youtube video about this game. So I contacted Mr. Gouw and asked him couple of questions. He kindly answered some of them so I decided to add them as a flavor to my material. He was 2300+ player 10 years earlier and he really enjoyed to play in such a strong tournament. He also knew that he has no chances to he decided to play "all in" double edged game.
