FSR: I played very well to achieve a totally winning position, but then found the grotesque blunder 31.Rc7?? Miraculously, it did not lose immediately, and I was still able to force what should have been a drawn knight versus bishop ending.

My opponent played for the win with 49...Bxe3 50.Kxe3 Kc4? That led by force to this position, with White (me) to move:

White is winning by force, but there is only one way. I found it, with just five seconds left on my clock after my 54th move! Probably my greatest achievement ever in time trouble. 62.Qc2+ Ka1 63.Qc1# would have saved a few moves.

FSR: Black could have deviated with 53...Kb4, when 54.f5! wins, or 53...Kb3, when 54.g5! wins.

Sep-08-19  malt: Good game, congratulations.
Sep-08-19  MelvinDoucet: Congrats on the win.
But isn't 2. c4 considered inaccurate on account of 2... e5? It's a little weird that somebody who plays 1... d6 in response to 1. d4 didn't know that.

FSR: <MelvinDoucet> I knew about that. I intended to play 3.Nf3. But yeah, in his shoes I would have played 2...e5. It already gives Black a plus score. Wow. I see that, at least in CG.com's database, 3.Nc3!? is the only move that gives White a plus score.

FSR: <MelvinDoucet> Yeah, I think I'm going to have to avoid 2.c4 e5! next time and play a different second move.
Dec-06-23  Messiah: There are unnecessary characters in the PGN, rendering the game unsubmittable for computer analysis.
