Oct-05-06  yudhimaster: Hey.. theres anyone knows the elo rating of stell!!? If it higher than 2000 i will definitely kill my self.
Oct-05-06  Necessary Truths: Elo ratings weren't developed until 80 years after this game was 'played'.
Oct-05-06  Anirix: what happens after 15. ...Kxc7?
Oct-05-06  Chess Carnival: Surely, 'our-bobby' is a reincarnation of 'their-bobby' ..
Oct-05-06  kevin86: A rare case where the winning side's king ends up on a7-in a game of just 26 moves. Black has cleaned out the whole back row-both rooks and queen died on their birth square.

Yet,white won the game!

Oct-05-06  AniamL: <al wazir> do you mean 13...Ne4?

  al wazir: <AniamL: <al wazir> do you mean 13...Ne4?>

Yes. Sorry. No wonder I keep banging into the car next to me when I park.

Oct-05-06  Tenderfoot: Whether or not it's composed or unsound, it's still incredible. Unsound chess usually tends to be the only really interesting chess anyway.
Oct-05-06  schnarre: Love Aggressive King games!
Nov-11-06  Whitehat1963: Interesting game, but NN is clearly no match for the Man of Steel.
Dec-26-06  Atking: <aragorn69:> Thanks for this precise historical complement. Still I'm afraid that in all this crazy opening is still alive after more logical (Even if it looks virtualy not dynamic)18.NxNd7+! RxNd7 19.Bxf4 and 20.Kb6 for the 21.Na6# Not easy to stop now, the diagonal f4-b8 !
Sep-01-07  Rubenus: <yudhimaster> His rating was 2001 :)
Sep-06-07  xeroxmachine: If a person who dont know anything about chess would look at this game he would probably say: -"well, chess isnt that hard its just to move around your pices randomly and hope for a win".

Domdaniel: It's a lot less random than it seems. White very nearly gets mated: at one point it looks like a classic king hunt, with Black offering material to draw the white king into a mating net. Then, shazam ... something kinda *shimmers* ... and suddenly White is on the attack, throwing away queen and rooks to deflect the black queen, and proving that his own king is an attacking piece. Beyond beautiful. And I don't care what 19th century Frankensteinian laboratory it got cooked up in.

OBIT: <al wazir>, on 13...Ne4: Have you forgotten your queen is hanging? :) Just play 14. Nxh4. There is no forced mate, and White is up two pieces after 14...Be6+ 15. Kd3 Nf2+ 16. Kc2 Nxd1 17. Kxd1.
Oct-20-07  psmith: <OBIT> <al wazir> It looks to me like a.w. was thinking that Ne4 was check (as it would be if it were Ne5)...
Nov-07-07  srinivas6195: Steel was a brutal attacking player
Jan-28-08  jovack: excellent game.

excellent as in 'entertaining'.

Mar-16-08  Jason Frost: OMG! Remarcable final position
Apr-04-08  PolishPentium: For Black: 25...Qxg2. Any merit to that move?
Apr-04-08  whiteshark: <khense: I'll fully annotate this game someday when I'm in jail ...>

Wanna go on an easy caper ?

Apr-04-08  whiteshark: <PolishPentium: <For Black: 25...Qxg2. Any merit to that move? >>

The following moves are rather forced:
<26.♗d6+ ♔d8 27.b8=♕+ ♗c8+ 28.♔b6 ♕b7+> Threat has been 29.Qc7#. <29.♕xb7 ♗xb7 30.♗xe8 ♔xe8 31.♔xb7> and white is ♗+♙ up.
