Jun-19-22  Alan McGowan: This is Robert Macdonald Ross.

The 1923 BCM, p74 says: We also hear with regret of the death early in November of Mr R.M. Ross of Fortrose, who was a well known and very strong player in Calcutta thirty years ago.

Scotland's national records show the death of Robert Macdonald Ross (79) on 25 October 1922 at Fortrose, in the parish of Rosemarkie (080/23).

The record gives the names of his parents, John and Isabella Macdonald; there is a birth record for Robert Macdonald in 1843 at Rosskeen (Ross and Cromarty).
