  mifralu: <The result of the match was disappointing from the London point of view, especially as it had been thought that the London team was stronger than the New York side. Possibly this was a point of view entertained only this side of the Atlantic since the New Yorkers won handsomely by 8—4. [...]

There were two additional games that did not count in the score of the match though, as a matter of fact, they would not have influenced the result. One was the so-called board of honour in which Sir Stuart Milner-Barry defeated Edward Lasker in 43 moves Milner-Barry vs Ed. Lasker, 1976 and the other was an under-10 game in which Howell lost to le Donne in 24 moves. R Le Donne vs J Howell, 1976 [...] >
