 | | perfidious: No-one gives a hairy rodent's fundament where Grischuk-or anyone else-comes from, save those obsessed with jingoistic rubbish. |
Apr-13-13 | | BUNA: Svidler will replace Kramnik. Not a bad choice either. |
Apr-13-13 | | Eyal: <Svidler will replace Kramnik.> Yeah, that’s the news on chessvibes (http://www.chessvibes.com/reports/s...). Apparently Kramnik agreed to participate in the Tal Memorial before knowing the exact dates, and when it turned out to be in June he felt it would be too much to play in all three of the Alekhine Memorial (which starts on 20 April), Stavanger & Tal Memorial. Btw, they also give the full list of participants in the upcoming Tal Memorial (12-21 June), which I haven’t seen before: Carlsen, Kramnik, Anand, Caruana, Karjakin, Nakamura, Morozevich, Gelfand, Mamedyarov & Andreikin. |

Apr-13-13 | | IndigoViolet: Vlad is ducking Topalov. This was to have been their first classical game in 5 years. |
Apr-13-13 | | joachimvhw: Dubov took down Bologan! |
Apr-13-13 | | fisayo123: So many ridiculous super-tournaments coming up. Good luck to Vituigov and MVL.
<joachimvhw> Dubov's Richter-Rauzer is really something else. I never play that line, but I might start to consider it myself. And Viorel has really taken a nose-dive since getting trounced at Biel. |
Apr-13-13 | | Eyal: <So many ridiculous super-tournaments coming up.> Well, with the disappearance of Linares & Amber the first half of the year (between Tata in January and June/July) has become rather wide open. Hopefully at least a couple of the new top tournaments we're seeing now – Baden-Baden, Zurich, the Alekhine Memorial, Stavanger – will become steady. |
Apr-13-13 | | IndigoViolet: Steady? Fixtures, permanent, established. |
Apr-13-13 | | BUNA: <Eyal> If Morozevich is really going to take part in the Tal Memorial (12-21 June) he'll spend quite some time in top tournaments.
He is due to play in Madrid (22 May–4 June) and Berlin (3–17 July). Or have there been any bad news concerning those Grand Prix tournaments? I was going to get a photo with Grischuk in Berlin?! |
Apr-13-13 | | Eyal: <BUNA> As far as I know the GP tournaments are still on, though there were problems with location in the upcoming one (it was moved from Lisbon to Zug); so you should hope the Berlin tournament isn't moved around as well... Btw, Radjabov should have an even busier schedule - 3 GP tournaments + Stavanger between now and July; and Anand is playing in all the big three (AM on April, Stavanger on May, and TM on June). |
Apr-13-13 | | BUNA: Thanks <Eyal>. |

Apr-13-13 | | vinidivici: i think Moro games in this tournament quite boring.
No sharp games, no extravagant tactics.

His game vs Grischuk matched his style, even down to the result. |

 | | HeMateMe: Sounds like Moro found his mojo. |
Apr-14-13 | | DrAjedrez: Respect to Grischuk for his great performance in this touranemnt. #5 in live ratings |
Apr-14-13 | | fisayo123: <vindivivi> Maybe you missed his game against Jakovenko? |
Apr-14-13
 | | perfidious: <fisayo123>: Asking a player of <vinidivici>'s seeming understanding to comprehend the idea that 2700-level GMs are not going to blow each other away with pyrotechnics, one game after another, is de trop. |
Apr-14-13 | | tuffy13: <HeMateMe> mojo means magic spell, hex or charm, according to the dictionary |
