Introduction
Played in Lodz, Poland (Russian Empire) from December 4 to December 24, 1907 (Old Style). Prizes were available for 1st through 8th place in the following amounts (in rubles): 1st, 600p; 2nd, 400p; 3rd, 250p; 4th, 175p; 5th 125p; 6th, 100p; 7th, 75p; 8th, 50p. Participants were Rubinstein, Salwe, Rotlewi, Goldfarb, Daniuszewski, and Rosenblatt, from Lodz; Alapin, E. A. Znosko-Borovsky, Freymann, and R. G. Kizeritsky, from St. Petersburg; Duz-Khotimirsky from Moscow; Kuczynski from Zgierz; Notkin from Kiev; and Yankovich from Rostov-on-Don.

Synopsis
Reneverd Gartmutovich Kizeritsky withdrew after the fifth round.(1) Yankovich played under the pseudonym "P. R. Alekseev" ("of the Caucasus"). Rubinstein vs. Rosenblatt and Freymann vs. Duz-Khotimirsky were played to adjournment but as neither player appeared for the resumption of either game both games were deemed as double-forfeits and scored 0-0 by the committee. The following games were also not resumed after adjournment due to one participant not resuming play and were considered forfeits (on time) by the committee: Znosko-Borovsky vs Rubinstein, Daniuszewski vs Yankovich, Rosenblatt vs Daniuszewski, Notkin vs Salwe, and Yankovich vs Daniuszewski.
