Bad Elster (1937)

Bad Elster is a spa town in Saxony, Germany, situated near the border with the Czech Republic. The tournament took place in May and June 1937.

This was a very competitive tournament with 69% of the games being decisive.

There is a rare tournament book with notes by Prof. Albert Becker - "Schachmeisterturnier Bad Elster 1937", published by Milcíades Angel Lachaga, Buenos Aires, 1972.
