Eleven rounds in 8 days, starting on Saturday 20 August. Tiresome program with double rounds on 21 (2 & 3), 23 (5 & 6) and 25 August (8 & 9) (66 games).

The Masters 1 tournament was won by Bror Engholm, ahead of H. Karlsson (2nd) and Peter Korning (3rd). The Masters 2 tournament was won by Kaarle Ojanen, ahead of Bengt Ekenberg (2nd), Allan Bergkvist and Osmo Kaila (=3rd). Engholm & Ojanen earned the Nordic Master title.

Lundin was still the Nordic Champion. At the Congress meeting on 27 August they decided to abandon the match format and give that title to the tournament winner — next year in Oslo, Norway. The dinner and prize giving was held on Sunday 28 August.
